    ive changed my hikvision 4mp cameras to some 5mp swann camera's and the microphone is pretty good. I need to find a discreet cam, not a bullet, something i can mount on the fence that's flat. I think hikvision do a mini dome which is quite flat.

    whats the smallest ip cam

    Im after an outdoor discrete camera to place on the fence just by the pavement, with microphone. I want to catch anyone walking past the house at face height. Can anyone recommend please. Im ideally after something that will blend in with the fence, I might even paint the camera the same colour.

    Would this kill the bandwidth on the broadband by much? Also is this the best way to add a backup to the system. At present my blueiris PC is the only place my recordings get stored. If that gets stolen then the recordings are gone.

    Anybody on here have any experience of using these? Do I have to use gjd detectors or will other makes work. I'm using it just for an audible beep and for floodlights at night.

    Not as much as I'd of thought. 4.8gb. Ram is pretty cheap nowadays so a worthwhile upgrade. But the general overall cpu has gone down a fair bit.

    Ok I now have the cameras dropping connection and no signal. If I go for no he acceleration it works fine. That's annoying I was hoping it would lower the cpu. Any thoughts?

    I've changed my 4mp hikvisons to 5mp Swann cameras and now the cpu is on 98%. I have 7 cameras. 8gb ram i7990 Intel. Any ideas. I've ordered 32gb of ram.

    when a car drives past at night and is moving slowly past the house its quite blocky and pixilated. Im now thinking that this NVR is not up to the job and hasnt the power to process 4mp?

    discrete graphics worth having?

    just ordered an i7 4790k for BI. Is it worth putting in Discrete graphics card? Im running 4 x Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-I The machine has 16gb ram and 64gb ssd and 4tb drive. Win 10 pro. Anything im missing or you would recommend?

If I connect the IP cam to myPC I am able to view a live feed, if I attach it to the nvr it detects the protocol ONVIF but there is a triangle which says unknown error.
