Doesn't this panel create more problems down the line?

If you're running bulk wire, you'll need to terminate each end with something. Punching down is in my experience a bit harder to get right than crimping a plug. But not so much harder it's worth crimping your own cables to use a passthrough jack. IT Professionals usually hire an outside...

Zosi camera - how to access

Interesting, but not necessarily nefarious. WeChat in China is beyond WhatsApp in Europe or email+Amazon in the US. Default customer support / payment / communications method.

New to the site, big vision, many questions..

What climate are you in? Is your attic finished? I’d be cautious about putting putting a POE switch in an unfinished attic for both overheating and dust reasons. What is your budget? Are you planning to do all the work yourself or have someone do parts for you?

Dahua NVR HTTPS certificate is not valid

Certificates have expiration dates, did you check that? Is this in Windows or Chrome? Chrome has its own certificate trust store.

New planned NVR setup, is this possible - suggestion requested

If you have power available at the remote site, I’d recommend using that. 150m is very far to run Ethernet, and you’d need to provide power for the switch and all 4 cameras over it. You’d need remote power to operate the wireless bridge recommended above. If you’re ok running cable in conduit...

looking for options for enabling remote access for CGNAT fiber connection

ZeroTier relies on the device you're accessing being online and running the ZeroTier software unless you're setting it up as a proxy. Do you have a plan for what to do if anything goes wrong with the ZeroTier host (like a failed update)? Would it be possible to configure ZeroTier on multiple...

Ubiquiti P2P setup for passing standard LAN and IPC LAN?

I think it's a tradeoff between how much infrastructure you want to put per camera, per building. If you have 5+ outbuildings each of which has a value of say $3000 and needs 2 cameras to cover it, installing a nanoStation in each building with PoE switch or injectors and 2 cameras gets very...

direct burial bulk Ethernet cable recommendations

Haven't eaten the Cat6 yet... ;) https://www.fs.com/products/106591.html this should be safe against rodents for a few years.

    Fiber to detached workshop options

If you're buying your fiber from fs.com their transceivers are usually around $12 so you might save a few $ sourcing elsewhere but you save on shipping and it's all on one order to aid in tracking you've picked the right types.

Ubiquiti P2P setup for passing standard LAN and IPC LAN?

Depending on the layout of the outbuildings, would it be simpler to have some of the cameras connect via wifi to an SSID on the 10.7.83.x network? You might also find it easier to put a 16+ port switch if you can find one cheap at the outbuilding and just configure 8 or more of them for camera...

Challenging Network Issue - Cameras going offline randomly

The only way to identify common causes is to be systematic in documenting the issue when it happens. I'd suggest labelling all of the cameras on your diagram with the IP addresses of them. (Could be only the last part to save space if you want so 192.168.0.122 becomes "122"). When any camera go...

Will airMAX NanoStation M5 work with airMAX NanoStation M5 loco?

From the specs: INS-8023AF-O takes in 48V and puts out 18V, .7A it is 300g and does not mention Gigabit anywhere. INS-3AF-O-G takes in 48V and puts out 24V, .5A passive PoE, it is 90g and does specify Gigabit. Those seem like pretty clear differences to me.

    Network Congestion

Has anyone set cameras to transmit over UDP? That seems much more suitable for a streaming use case than TCP. You're not going to get it everywhere in your house, but having an 802.11ax network is now much cheaper and higher performance than what you would see with g or n, and is not a...
