POLL Your fav (cheaper but still great quality) cam manufacture under Dahua/Hikvision do you have?

Ive got a number of inexpensive Geovision cameras installed in a few areas around a business. The 2mp indoor domes are worth it, no advanced features but the IQ is pretty good for a $80 camera and they have been dead nuts reliable. I've got a few of their outdoor 2mp bullets up as well, they're...

IP cameras that don't require Windows for playback/administration

Dahua is Mac friendly which is better than many others, you might try Chrome on Ubuntu as I believe their web app just needs a platform independent chrome plugin.

I've got a few of the same model camera, I have one that has 15 presets right now, I think you can set way way more.

    dahua DH-SD22204T-GN and Autotracking?

That camera doesn't have the auto tracking feature in the camera, and I don't belive blue iris has any sort of auto tracking feature in software. Best you could do is set preset positions in the camera and have alerts trigger the camera moving to a new position. Is this your only camera on...

Suggestion for outdoor version of SD29204T-GN (mini-PTZ)

SD22204T-GN is rated for outdoor. I've got four right now used in a warehouse setting, they're working well for what I need out of them. The wide end of the zoom is really really wide, and there is no IR so it may not be the best choice if you're interested in anything other than casual observing.

Is it possible to pass a string to BI and name a clip?

I'm looking at using BI for documenting assembly processes in a manufacturing area, and am trying to come up with a clean way to tie what job/ activity is being done at a specific workstation with the video files so I can archive them in a catalog. Is there an easy way, or any hooks into the...

    Fanless switch recommendations.

I just bought a Cisco SG300-10PP that is fanless. 8POE+ ports plus two uplinks, all ports are gigabit. Layer 3 managed switch, probably a little overkill for most applications.

    1 to 4 PoE Extender

I'm glad this device seems to work well. I've been struggling with trying to use Netgear GS105PE's where I need to add RS232 port servers at the end of existing runs, while still providing gigabit data to the existing device. I've had trouble with these as they will sometimes fail to identify as...

    Dahua Switches anyone?

I'm slightly interested in the DIN rail mounted managed switch. I have an application right now with underground fiber running to an electrical cabinet on the other side of a parking lot where I need to locate a PoE switch to power an IP based access control keypad and a few cameras, and tag the...

    POE Switch

Be careful with ubiquity gear. Some of their older equipment uses passive 24V, some use passive 48V, some switches will only supply 24V, some are 48V passive, some will supply both voltages passive, and now their newer gear is finally fully 802.3af/ at compliant. Most IP cams need 802.3af...

Need a good looking black outdoor dome

I've looked at Hik's website, couldn't find information about anything that comes in black. Maybe I'm stupid. Also, forgot to add that a wide FOV would be nice here as well.

Need a good looking black outdoor dome

I just got done running all the wiring for a new IP based access control system in our building, and while I was pulling wiring for the card reader for the front door I ran an extra line just in case I could get buy off on putting a IP camera directly above the door. The front door is in a glass...

Need a locking wall-mount rack enclosure to house NVR, router, switch, modem, etc.

Re: Need a locking wall-mount rack enclosure to house NVR, router, switch, modem, etc I've bought 3x 6U and a 12U of this model: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015APS5F6/ref=twister_B01AZ2YX0A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 They're pretty well built and look good. Single key lock on the front door, and you...

    Two Patch Panels?

First- I would start with why do you need ready access to the physical I/O on a routine basis? RDP or other remote access programs work pretty well for routine maintenance, and you could host a shared external HD off of another computer for backup purposes. VGA is good for 100+ feet on good...

    Good indoor 3-axis domes?

By "dongle type" I meant this: Where the female RJ-45 is pigtailed. I have some Geovision 2-axis IP67 cameras currently that have the RJ-45 internal to their diecast aluminum enclosure and much prefer this style of connection, even though it requires re-terminating the cable after the camera...

    Good indoor 3-axis domes?

Hello, I'm helping to plan an upgrade to the surveillance system at work, and my boss really prefers the look of dome cameras. We need wall mount them in several locations, hence the 3-axis requirement. Main needs: Dome format, good styling, preferably avoiding "dongle" type connectors...
