Video looks grainy in Blue Iris and the Blue Iris app

How long are your runs of cable? Are you by chance using some sort coax converter? What is powering this? (check pwr outputs) Have you checked the physical connections recently for signs of buildup/corrosion? Do you notice any physical wear around the cam, or condensation on the inside of the...

Make sure that you do not have any IP conflicts, or port forwarding conflicts. The port that you use really does not matter, make TCP and UDP the same (if you desire to have UDP setup). For security try to shoot for the higher numbers in ports, make it harder for an attacker to exploit the...

    Connecting two blue iris systems

I recently set up two systems, one for "Outside" and one for "Inside" each consisting of ~30 cams. The two servers are independant, but managing between the two with the blue Iris App (For android or Iphone) is very simple. I also just create two dif book marks for the http:// access.

This system is required to meet I-502 standards, but is not a weed farm:). I like the idea of a NAS, but I could see it restricting the use of the "Direct to Disk" function found in BI. I am very worried about the amount of cameras I need though (about 60 in total), and I am fine with 10 FPS...

    4.4.7 - October 27, 2016 - H.265 cameras are supported via RTSP

I only see H.265 being useful for sending footage at a comparatively low bitrate to h.264, as h.265 requires a bit more CPU utilization to encode upfront. So in terms of blue iris being an already CPU thirsty piece of software, I'm probably going to stay with h.264 for a while. H.265: Here's...
