I noticed my IVS events from my IPC-HDW5831R-ZE finally show up correctly in the search function on this version. So maybe 4.001 is what 4.0 should have been in the first place, seems like they're finally knocking out some of the major showstoppers.

Why don't you just use Internet Explorer for playback? Or use SmartPSS to access the recordings? You can still view the recordings via the list view on the right hand side even without the timeline. You're facing an uphill battle here getting Dahua to make changes, probably not going to...
