It is possible to record clips via Admin UI?

The BI mobile application makes it quite simple to record a video clip from archived footage (using the video icon during clip playback). I might be missing it, but is there a way to do this on the desktop via BI Admin? I have a clip that was recorded yesterday that is a few GB; too big to...

Odd behavior from one camera (Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I went back and tested a 5442 on the same run -- same issue. After scratching my head for a bit, I decided to try moving the run back with 40' less cable. Voila! Fully functional camera now. Thanks for the replies!

Odd behavior from one camera (Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Pure Solid Copper cable used, not Copper clad aluminum? Solid 23awg or 24awg wire? Not positive, but I think it's 24awg, will confirm. However, I have used this same spec wire on longer runs with no issues. Good quality Rj45s? Tripp Lite Rj45s wired to 568b standard? 558B Connection...

Odd behavior from one camera (Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Yes, they're all 5231 cameras. I can try swapping. Tried every port on that particular switch, including ports that had functioning 5231 prior. No dice. You read my mind! I was going to go back over with an injector and see if that made a difference. Just very odd that it worked for "a...

Odd behavior from one camera (Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

One of my installs has a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z mounted on a tree down by the client's driveway via direct burial CAT5e cable. When I installed it, everything tested fine and the camera was working as expected. Within the first few weeks the client reported the camera going offline every now and...

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

Thank you for the information. You're explaining my exact situation. To be clear, in post #18 I just went as high as possible to see if there was an immediate improvement. There was, now I will go back and refine.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

Got it! I'll fiddle with it to get it down to where it's optimized but not showing the issue. Thanks again

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

That seems to have done the trick! I unchecked the limit option and set the quality to 100 as a test: I don't see the jaggies or time jump every ~20 seconds now. Thanks for the tip!

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

That's something I haven't investigated. Can you provide more info on what to check/change?

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

I've gone back and checked some of my other systems and they're all doing this on one camera or another... no real rhyme or reason to the model or make. Frustrating.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

On Driveway2, the No Signals are due to me removing the camera over night. It hasn't recorded any new errors since reconnecting the camera. Was testing a new model.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

Just hooked a monitor up and I do NOT see the issue when viewing this camera in the console. I still see the issue in the iOS app.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

I am not using a dummy plug. Could I just hook up a monitor to the machine instead?

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

I'm not sure if this happens on the console because I'm headless accessing via RDP. I can connect a monitor and see if it happens.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

The video was recorded using the video capture option in the BI iOS app while viewing a clip of this camera. Will go back and check the wiki. I have the FPS set at 21 in the BI app. EDIT - I have 7 other cameras on this system (older bullet style Dahua) that do not have the issue, so it's not...

I made that change, but it seems to have made no impact.

Blue Iris Live video shows jaggies every ~20 seconds

I have a number of Blue Iris systems out in the wild using the 5442 camera from Andy. Viewing the Live view directly on the camera admin UI shows smooth video, however, when I view the live video using my Blue Iris iOS app, I get jaggies every 20 seconds or so. I've checked and this occurs on...

Can't reach remote host on local WiFi

That’s correct. The connection is unsuccessful in both directions.

Can't reach remote host on local WiFi

Update - I RDP'ed in to the remote machine and tried to hit the hostname that is associated with my local network (cams1) I'm trying to access the remote network from. It also fails to load.

Can't reach remote host on local WiFi

There should not be any blocking on the remote end. I will try getting a new IP here and see if that clears it up. Thank you for the suggestions! This is an odd one. There are 18 other variations of camsNum.domain.com and all but this one work. :)

Can't reach remote host on local WiFi

I can't ping the IP either. If I run an nslookup I get the correct IP, but neither the hostname nor the IP is ping-able. I have other hostnames (sub-domains) on the same domain and they load fine. It's literally one digit off from one that works fine. Ex cams1.domain.com vs cams2.domain.com.

Can't reach remote host on local WiFi

This seems like a basic issue that I should be able to fix, but I'm down a few brain cells for various reasons I have a remote host that I cannot reach on my local network, but I can connect to the host from LTE as well as from any other network (ex: if I RDP to my office and try from there)...

Why is this happening? Corrupt video

Headless yes. I’ll see if the intel beta works and then try an emulator if need be. Didn’t even know those existed! Thanks :)

So far so good with turning off Hardware Acceleration. I will also check my video drivers. Thank you!!

Why is this happening? Corrupt video

Spoke too soon... here is my driveway camera. The feed in the background is Blue Iris, foreground is SmartPSS.

Why is this happening? Corrupt video

Sorry for the delay. I installed SmartPSS and will test direct access of the feed. I recently restarted one that was having the issue so I don't currently have one to test. Also, I've seen this same issue when running a slightly less-ancient camera like a IPC-HFW4431R-Z.

The live feed is pixelated pink as well.

Why is this happening? Corrupt video

Update - I noticed the FPS drops to around 7 (from 15) on the cameras that are showing this scrambled pink video.
