Could heat be an issue? Where is your PoE switch physically located? I found one in a very poorly conditioned wiring closet once, well over 100 degrees in there. I note it is summer time in the northern hemisphere, and there have been heat waves lately in a few geos.

That solved it. I set up routing between the subnets, now live view works, so saving brightness works. I'd been trying to keep my camera subnet as completely isolated from the real world as possible ... I guess a firewall is in my future. Or maybe I'll just turn off the route when I don't need...
