@David L Not having the power kit installed caused the plunger to lockup from constant hum/chattering. I'll try testing the doorbell with the wire short method when I get home.

If you're satisfied with Ring Pro I would stick with it. The new one with ONVIF seems to work well when I have a chance to speak through it. I haven't used it much with people ringing the doorbell, dropping off packages then scurrying back to their car.

I have both don't waste your money on this one.

@dfarkov After running for a day it looks like it's detecting normal camera motion and not PIR motion. I have a RCA with newest Hikvision firmware with sd card installed. I using a basic config based off example. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

@dfarkov Awesome work. I just got this setup on Unraid where all my other dockers live to send motion to home assistant.

@David L It's a mechanical chime. It's just weird that it worked before and since I've switched to the new doorbell...nothing.

@David L I should have clarified the doorbell works great but the chime still doesn't work. It didn't work before I installed the power kit. The chime worked fine with original doorbell and RCA 1080p doorbell.

I upgraded EZVIZ 191211 to Hik 200231 on an early 2019 RCA doorbell . Everything upgraded fine with no issue. I also finally got around to to placing the power kit inside my chime. The hum went away but the chime still doesn't work.

Has anyone found a way to get a still image when not using ONVIF firmware?

@David L I was thinking I would get the Google Nest Hub integration to work...probably should have read all of the 101...haha. I was hoping that it would be like my previous RCA doorbell but now the chime doesn't work and I get a barely audible hum. I would install the booster but of course...

Just upgraded my RCA doorbell from RCA FW 190124 to latest EZVIZ firmware. Not sure on the manufacture date. Was purchased used off ebay.

I paid $50 for mine and even at that price I wouldn't recommend. I would suggest you unplug the IR if you have sufficient lighting near your doorbell.

Have you upgraded your transformer?

That should work.

Don't waste your time if your transformer only puts out 10A. Replacing the transformer should be the first thing you do.

Unless you're just wanting a WIFI camera at doorbell level, I wouldn't bother. The Hikvision doorbell app doesn't function as advertised.

I agree this product isn't worth retail. Even paying $50 and mainly interested in the camera this product is disappointing. The Hikvision app works occasionally but has been unresponsive for several weeks now and I can't be bothered to reset the doorbell again. Upgrading the transformer solved...

I was wondering who else snagged a refurbished unit. I ordered one and was thinking about purchasing more. Asked my partner about placement and I got the stink eye about us having more cameras in the house. Was going to order another one anyway for "sparing" but they were all gone.
