I have these placed on my front and back 2 story eaves and they are decent. They are out of direct sunlight which is a must for a dome. I also have LED lights for most of my outside lighting and just keep them on all night and they have a decent picture. I have not seen anything similar hence...
I'm using the homeseer system to control lights on an old x10 system which I have been replacing with zwave devices. I am using the zwave hub and will get around to integrating the homeseer system with Blue Iris after the holidays. I need to get the glass breakage sensors, sirens, etc. Still...
logbuilder, are you using the Blue Iris plugin for Homeseer to do this? I will be doing something very similar once I get the camera profiles down (almost there) and get my zwave sensors set. I was going to mention the profile thing as I have my profiles set to home, away, sleep, security (all...
Yeah I do the same with my cameras and actually had to do a separate Van for the doorbird. I'm goin to email them asking about that and a couple other things and will post their reply.
Well I got the doorbird and got it installed. Is POE and built well. Not using ONVIF but it does it. It works perfectly with my electric door chime and with my security tablets and phones. Quirky IR with it only coming on when the doorbell is pushed but other than that it works fine. Hoping...
I setup my camera network like diagram A but recently had to connect the POE switch to my access point which is on my local network to create a VLAN for my doorbell cam which will not allow a static IP so my setup is sort of a mish mash. Whatever works and is also secure.
I think I'm going to get the doorbird. It seems to be the only one which has poe, onvif, works with blue iris, has a wireless chime, and seems reliable. Will post my findings when I get it and install it.
If you are running all cameras to your POE switch then all you have to do is plug it into a 2nd Ethernet or NIC card using a different ip range than your other network.
