alastairstevenson - Thanks, progress. Plug in wasn't enabled. Now no matter which user/password I enter, it says account doesn't exit even though I can use them to log in with Smart PSS or directly into NVR.

I updated the firmware on one of my four IPC-HDW5231RN-Z cameras and it went OK. Is there a way to backup the old firmware before updating? I would like to keep it just in case.

Andy, I bought four IPC-HDW5231RN-Z (P/N 1.0.01.04.18696) a few years ago. They are not on the list. They have never had the firmware updated. Can the firmware be updated with the version listed in the first post?

Did you scroll down and look at the details of each camera? The differences are quite obvious. 4MP cmos vs 2MP exmor cmos non-starlight vs starlight illumination frame rate etc. Or, am I misinterpreting your question?
