New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

This may be an obscure question, but....: I like that my phone app "rings" whenever the DB is pressed. I don't like that it "chimes" whenever motion is detected (which is a lot more often than the DB). It keeps going off when I'm chatting to someone outside my front door. I find myself putting...

    https:// or http://

Thanks, I've finally got it running using OpenVPN. I must have got in a tangle with my router settings. I did a factory reset and started again and got it set up very quickly with no issues.

Does anyone have a link to a definitive tutorial for setting up secure Web Server access to BI using UI3, please?

    https:// or http://

I've been trying to set up Web Server access (using STunnel) and have nearly got there. My issue is that I can only get in using http:/80.193.abc.d:8xxx/login.htm and I feel I should be using https. Where do I start looking!!? There are so many settings in both BI and my ASUS router that my...

Problem setting Network Time Protocol (NTP)

Update: I've found a setting DNS Server/Preferred DNS Server which was set to "8.8.8.8 " on the older cameras but blank on the newer ones. Having used the same setting on the newer cameras, NTP now tests successfully. Problem solved!

Problem setting Network Time Protocol (NTP)

I have 4 Hikvision DS-2CD2346G2-IU cameras. They are not quite identical as the older two have Firmware Version Property B-R-G3-0 and the newer two have B-R-G5-0. I wish to set the time using NTP (time1.google.com). The older cameras work fine. However the newer ones give the error message...

Hikvision random (NO LONGER) frame rate changes

Thanks. I've found (with great difficulty!) more-recent firmware, moving from 5.5.150_200927 to 5.5.160_210416 on both cameras. I did a factory restore on one camera (and re-entered all my settings) but not the other. I then cut the power (PoE) to both cameras and hey presto all the settings...

Hikvision random (NO LONGER) frame rate changes

I never did get to the bottom of this and it still happens. Despite saving the settings I want via the direct configuration page to the cameras, if I get a power outage they reset themselves to their original settings. PLEASE: Is there any way to prevent this? It seems daft!

Hikvision random (NO LONGER) frame rate changes

I had another power outage this morning and, guess what, both cameras reset themselves again. This is unlikely to be a coincidence. So, I've set about testing by cutting & restoring power backwards through my system: Individual cameras PoE switch Router Blue Iris PC (Power down) Blue Iris PC...

Hikvision random (NO LONGER) frame rate changes

I have 2x Hikvision DS-2CD2346G2-IU IP cameras. I set them both to 20 FPS and a few days ago and haven't touched their configurations since. I've just discovered that one has reset itself to 4 FPS and the other to 10 FPS. Also other settings such as bitrates and video encoding have also...

    Convert/export to BVR?

I still can't work this out. Can anyone assist me, please?

    Convert/export to BVR?

Thanks, but I must be missing something. BI help says: "BVR and AVI are considered "input" formats, while MP4 and WMV are considered "output" formats. You may convert an input format to an output format. In addition, you may trim an AVI file to an output AVI file, or convert a BVR file to an...

    Convert/export to BVR?

I can see how to convert/export a clip to AVI, MP4, wmv, etc. but I'd quite like to edit a section of video to BI's own .bvr format (e.g. to save 5 minutes of interest from 8 hours of inactivity). Is this possible? (I like BI's playback functionality).

    OSD Text Colour

I've just answered my own question - it's because my firmware is old-ish! I've updated to the latest version and - voila! - the dropdown colour is now available. Thanks Andy

    OSD Text Colour

Thanks, Alastair, but I can't find a Font Colour dropdown. Is this because my camera was cheap-ish!

    OSD Text Colour

I have 2 HIKs: DS-2CD-2032-1 & DS-2CD-2632F-IS. Both have On Screen Display set for name and date. The text switches between black and white depending on the contrast or white balance as can be seen in the sunny/frosty image attached. However, every time a digit switches it triggers an alert on...

    SOLVED: Can't edit overlays

    SOLVED: Can't edit overlays

I have two old overlays (date/time & name) that simply refuse to let me edit them. I can add new overlays and edit them but can't touch the old ones. Any ideas, please?

Deleting clips doesn't free up disk space

The same issue but I don't get disparity between Explorer and BI numbers. (Used space is bigger than yesterday as I've deleted more clips this morning)

Deleting clips doesn't free up disk space

Thanks - good idea. I'll try........... So. I've deleted all file clips, taken screenshot2, rebooted the server, restarted BI and taken screenshot3. No change. But thanks again for the suggestion.

Deleting clips doesn't free up disk space

Am I really the only one who's got this problem? My HDD is used solely for storing BI clips. After deleting all clips, I have repaired the DB from within BI but you can see from the Status screenshot that about 20% of the disk is still marked as used. There are no files on the disk. Not even...

Deleting clips doesn't free up disk space

I've noticed that deleting recorded clips from within BI (using "Destroy") does not free up the disk space on my hard drive. It remains as Used Space (as seen in File Explorer - Properties). This restricts and steadily reduces the amount of Free Space to the point that I have to reformat the...
