Recommend a workflow (alerts, remote viewing and storage) for x4 cams

Hi all I have x4 Dahua cams and a 4th Gen i7 Dell Optiplex running BI. I’ve had this setup for quite a while but I never got time to get a “system” going for alerts / remote viewing / storage. I also have a Synology Nas (Ds218play) with a 2TB WD Red. Separately I have a 4TB WD purple and a...

Need a reversing or backup cam (pref wireless) for my van

thanks matt, i did look at some yt videos for wired installation. Doing so put me off, as some people have trouble routing wires through bodywork, especially where insulation type materials exists. Understand that it needs power source in any case, but that should be a simpler task to tap into...

Need a reversing or backup cam (pref wireless) for my van

Bought a new to me van which really needs a reverse or backup cam (depending on which side of the pond you’re on). Are Wi-Fi models worth considering? Any particular brands ?

I’ve Forgotten how to install cams!

I’m afraid to try that in the event I can’t reconnect as I currently have no alternative of viewing other than Remote Desktop and I’m away for a week

I’ve Forgotten how to install cams!

Does anyone know if I can use google Remote Desktop to change IP of router etc to 192.168.0.1 and check there for the new cam or will I lose my remote connection?

I’ve Forgotten how to install cams!

I am not at home now but I have a sense that the cam is on 192.168.0.x Rather than 192.168.1.x Is that plausible?

Mounting a Turret in the garden - away from house building - ideas?

Hi All I have another turret Dahua on the way specifically theHDW5442. My current setup is of x3 other Dahua starlights all mounted on external walls of my house pointing out. I plan to install this new camera at the end of my garden (25 ft down from the back door of the house), looking back...

    Hubitat and Blueiris

EDIT: All is working fine again. I am not sure what happened but strongly suspect finger trouble on my part. I will try increase attention to documenting the scenario if things go wrong. Thanks again! Very excited about this Hubitat System! (And BI of course!)

    Hubitat and Blueiris

Got it sorted now. Worked when using mjpg and also in BI authentication settings I had to allow all LAN connections straight through access. I had several IP addresses added individually of all devices (including HE) on my network setup but that didn't work. Don't know why. But I'm happy now...

    Hubitat and Blueiris

when I click on the image it just brings up a larger image. Although, I have it setup to be an image, not a video stream as the video stream doesn't show anything at all.

    Hubitat and Blueiris

thanks. I have managed to get an image to appear that will refresh every 1 second. No such luck with the video feed.

    Hubitat and Blueiris

It appears as though Hubitat is fast gaining momentum on the home automation scene as a do it all Hub. I have searched the forum and cannot locate much info on integration with Blueiris and if this is even possible. Does anybody know if BI can talk to the Hubitat hub? thanks

I'm only using BI to limited functionality (recording); any advise on setting alerts etc?

Thanks Handinpalm. I've set up push notifications by enabling in BI and in the app. I have also ensured the app runs in the background of my pixel phone. However still no success. Any other pitfalls when setting this up?

I'm only using BI to limited functionality (recording); any advise on setting alerts etc?

Hi all Have been using BI for a few months now and have been happy with it overall. I haven't explored it completely and have only used it to view by remote desktop login and record onto SDD and HDD. I also have the BI App. I'm looking to expand it's use but not sure of what to explore next...

that foam ring around the lens; what is it for?

here's a snapshot from night with IR on, without the foam ring. there is some sort of diagonal spider web like image. i have done a quick search of images for ir reflection and i am not sure that it explains what's in this snapshot

that foam ring around the lens; what is it for?

hey all In my haste of reassembly of my Dahua 5321Z, have left off the foam ring surrounding the lens inside. I had it apart to try fix an auto focus issue (which thankfully appears to be rectified) due to a somewhat stupid move of working on the camera body while still powered. So, of...

Warning about tool shipped with Dahua cams!

the tool head snapped off and remained in the screw socket. This is very definitely an issue with the tool itself. The torque used was quite low, and I have torqued and re-torqued these screws many times over, but this was my first time using this specific tool as it shipped with a new camera...

Warning about tool shipped with Dahua cams!

Yes, I think that was the problem. I have managed to get the picture almost back what it was, although it is certainly not as sharp. However, when I zoom in/out, the camera goes wildly out of focus again. After manual focusing, it appears to only want to focus in on one point of the optical zoom...

Warning about tool shipped with Dahua cams!

Hello all One of those specialisied tools snapped off when I was trying to loosen my Dahua starlight from it's holder. A word of warning, these things will not drill out easily, left handed drill bit or not. I recommend you buy yourself a high quality hardened tool and throw the tool shipped...

    Review IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED (Full Color, Starlight+)

Am I one of the few who like the idea of the LED light? In the very least, something different to the IR night modes, and if one is prepared to schedule the LED on for all of darkness, then it looks to be a great proposition (with some routine cleaning)

I have a VPN setup; but how do I confirm my IPC has no web access?

From reading the cliff notes, it is stated that the gateway address on IPCs should be left blank so that the cam cannot have internet access. Upon logging into my cam, I cant delete this address. Am I interpreting this correctly? Also, I have a VPN setup up on my home router, with a client...
