I am trying to export video from my Dahua 5216 with SmartPSS. I set the start time and stop time, but it always wants to export an hour of video. I really just need to export a few minutes or a few seconds. I seem to get the start time right, but end time is one hour after start time.

Do any of the Dahua camera stream directly to an internet URL? I would like to stream directly to a cloud based service. I have a 300MB internet connection that I can upgrade to 1GB so I am not worried about saturating my internet connection.

Well the NVR just crapped out again. It stopped working after about 3 days. Now I cant get it to boot up. The power light comes on fan turns on, hard drive spins up. But no video out. I want to update the firmware, but cant see how to do that without the device booting up.

Bingo, that was the problem. You also need to remember to set it up for each channel. But once I did that I got my orange lines. Thank you very much.

Weird, I am having the same behavior. The IVS event appears in the log, however, I don't get the orange (yellow) line. I have zoomed in pretty close on the timeline and it is still not there. Also it does not appear on the file list the way yours does.

Make sure that you are running IE and not Edge. I made that mistake.

You don't have a receiver specified. Try adding that. Also make sure that your default gateway in your TCP/IP settings is correct.

Ok, I fell like I am wearing out my welcome but here goes. I have IVS setup. However, in the video earlier in this post it shows the lines for tripwire in the LIVE feed. When I go to my live feed I don't see the tripwire lines.

So it turns out it was not the resolution, but the scaling of the text and apps which I had to 150%. In case anybody else has the same issue. But thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Now more fun begins and I am sure more questions. You guys are invaluable.

Well that helped a little. Now I can draw the line, but the picture is in a funny place.

I started by using Edge, but could not get the plug in installed. So I downloaded Chrome and go to the IP address of the camera from the plugin.

I plan on leaving them on all night, I will have them attached to my Insteon system so they can turn on at dusk and off at dawn. Just wanted to know if the camera reacts better to one type of light or not. Also is it appropriate for me to post a layout of the driveway here as j4co suggests?

Well for $40 that makes it a no brainer. Going to order one up with some POE ports. After all we are talking about a piece of equipment that will in theory help defend my house, and hopefully help identify the idiots that keep breaking into my wife's car.

I have ordered the new Starlight cameras that have the IVS function. But I guess I just like higher end stuff and I hate locking myself out of new features. Especially if it only costs about $100 more. I will probably order one of these with either 8 or 16 POE ports.
