4.8.5 - BIG NEWS No movement trigger and New AI integration/update

varghesesa, cool to see your company engaging with people here. Is there anything you could share regarding the security of user images from your end (from areas within your control)? Related question: do Sentry employees have access to the images being processed, and if so, any plans on...

4.8.5 - BIG NEWS No movement trigger and New AI integration/update

I'm an Amazon customer/investor and I wouldn't. We need local superpowers, and that isn't that far off from the present. Or, you can trust a really large and capable company with endless amounts of money, and end-goals of I don't quite know what, and hope for the best. I say all that and I doubt...

4.8.5 - BIG NEWS No movement trigger and New AI integration/update

And so you're back to reality at this point in time. Gotta hand off your data and hope for the best because the avg system and consumer software options (Windows) don't exist to solve this locally for a normal user with normal HW. Happy to see interest here because before long, we'll be able to...

4.8.5 - BIG NEWS No movement trigger and New AI integration/update

So the processing is done on their servers which is to be expected. I’m sure it’s impossible to encrypt this information as it makes a trip there and back to client. Too many questions for me to trust a service like that, even if they have the best intentions.

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

Thanks a lot for helping me think through it. It would have been a shame to have bought a new PC because a stick of RAM confused me so much. Yeah I agree with you on the kill-a-watt meter probably not causing weird stuff, but just in case.. Awfully weird timing, and I do think I had too much...

I had a camera where the port wouldn’t hold the cat6 cable properly. It would lose connection constanty. Under warranty, LTS gave me a whole new camera

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

Update: FIXED MB came back from ASUS with notes on it saying they couldn't duplicate the problem. I began to suspect RAM again so I threw both sticks in my main PC (again) and got some actual memory specific BSOD's this time. Tested them individually and finally found one of the two 8GB sticks...

Yeah I may end up doing that. Good idea. Going to see how the MB issue works out w/ ASUS first. I think there's a 95% chance they'll send it back to me unchanged

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

The main Blue Iris computer mainly stayed at 20-30% CPU (i7-4770K) - running anywhere between 10-20 FPS on 8 cams, high quality 1080p or greater video. I remember checking heat between BSOD's and temps did seem fine. As I mentioned above, we threw on a radiator cooler and put it through it's...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

On my Blue Iris PC, I can't remember temps but at computer shop, the guy ran a stress test program and observed temps and thought it was okay (this was after we put a radiator CPU cooler on there). I left the shop for an hour while he stress tested and during that time no BSOD. Took it home and...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

HA!!!!!!! On the problem PC, I had a stock cooler. When I took it into a PC repair shop, I let them sell me a radiator cooler (shoulda had one anyways), but the problems eventually persisted. Good question but I didn't move any drives from Blue Iris PC to work PC. Added to that, early on...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

Gotcha. I agree it could be CPU. I didn't swap out the RAM with other ram - just pulled one out at a time and tested both. After that I tested both on the other 2 slots.

@fenderman I wish that were the case but I swapped it with another and had same issues @SantiagoDraco sounds like your bet is CPU. I hope MB fixes but I have my doubts as well I've never had hardware fail on me other than hard drives, so this is a first for me

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

No luck so far, but I really appreciate the ideas. Here's what I tried: I put RAM in other 2 slots Installed a 2016 Intel driver (and removed separate card) Tested with a spare power supply All 3 ideas resulted in same BSOD when I do anything substantial (especially when I repair/regenerate...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

Good points. I did disable HW acceleration with the new graphics card put in. No luck I also swapped the ram since my last post with no luck The PC runs fine until I open BI or run anything taxing such as the intel GPU test I tried to run. I don’t have a spare processor to test with...

Ok, good points about safe mode. - I only installed BI Tools, Timesync, and Jump Desktop (for remote connection) and Blue Iris of course - I was using integrated graphics on Intel chip. Currently trying a separate video card w/ no improvements in instability - not overclocking. updated bios to...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

Temps are fine but just in case, I just took PC outside and blew it out. I cleaned CPU fan and re-seated with fresh thermal paste. Computer still restarts very soon after I log into windows. None of this happens when I run in safe mode w/ networking, and Blue Iris even runs perfectly. Does...

Frequent shutdowns and BSOD's on usually great PC

I run Blue Iris as a service on dedicated i7-4770K (4th gen, Haswell). 16GB DDR3 RAM. 8 various cams, 24/7 recording and motion detect, Direct to Disk (each cam) and HW acceleration turned on. There have been some hiccups since 2013 but it's been pretty good for years - hums along at 20% CPU...

Highly recommend running Nettime as a service, syncing cameras to that time. I had some trouble with this at first but once I got it working I don't know how I lived without it. Those camera clocks drift really bad.
