Help resetting Hikvision Turret IP cam without DHCP?

great, great, thanks. tge seller has got back to me saying they because the cams are pre-config I shouldn’t be attaching them to my network. Instead, directly to the laptop via Ethernet. Problem with that is I’ll have to find a power supply for the cam as won’t be using POE. will your method...

Help resetting Hikvision Turret IP cam without DHCP?

hi Mike could you elaborate a bit more in this... so the laptop that has SADP installed on it, change the ip of that? the ip of the cam shown in SADP doesn’t work when I put it into the browser, assuming because cam has no dhcp enabled and hence that ip is out of range.

Help resetting Hikvision Turret IP cam without DHCP?

Hi everyone I already have 4 Hikvision turrets, which I bought brand new from official UK stock a few years ago. Last week I bought 2 more of the exact same from eBay second hand but official UK stock. However the seller has not reset the cams to factory and has not provided the password. I...

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

Ok i’ve had the system up and running now with the latest Blue Iris and latest Windows 10 Pro build (clean install). Computer is running faster too now, a lot more responsive, even with conventional HDD. Do you I think I should re-install RealVNC server on it? Its a fantastic piece of VNC that...

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

Great thanks, that’s what I’ve always done, but I was reading an installation guide and they advised secure erase, which I thought was a bit overkill.

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

Does anyone think I should securely erase the hard drive first with a bootable utility like Parted Magic to ensure all malware destroyed? Or is deleting all partitions in the windows setup good enough?

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

Ok thanks, CPU is only at 13%. Hardware acceleration enabled Intel Core i5 4590 3.3Ghz 8GB ram Blue iris uses about 1.5GB ram, ram free on the system is about 2.5GB. Intel HD4600 Graphics I’ve had Blue Iris on this for 2 years, no problems at all in the past...

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

Only blue iris, it quits once every 3 months. Do you think there are too many errors on that log per day? Seems like a lot! The windows system doesn’t ever crash. But I was infected with malware in Dec last year because I installed a horrible installer version of ImgBurn. I had to manually...

Unexpected Shutdown only once every 3 months

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi Tangent Its been a while since I've posted. All the above has been working flawlessly so far and I do still think of all the help you provided, it just wouldn't have been possible without your guidance. But I have another modification I'd like to do, which would hopefully make the system...

Strange, mine has worked straight away and is always consistent. But I have latest iOS on iPhone and have configured my router with port forward etc. I don’t use stunnel, don’t know what that is?

Most stable release for rich push notifications?

hi I’ve been running version 4.5.1.2 for many months now with high end PIRs connected to the Sealevel 8112 USB device. It’s been rock solid stable 24/7. But I’m tempted by the rich picture push notifications and wanted to know what would be the best most stable version number to download and...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Thanks for the advice. I have attached a night image of my drive way from the camera itself. It's mounted under the eaves but right at the front so no reflection from the eaves. I have pointed the camera down a bit more which then directs the IR more on the moving subject. I did have the camera...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Not much luck unfortunately, even when the flood light comes on, face is just too grainy and blurred at 1/500 shutter speed. Overall scene is not too dark, but detail is difficult to spot on a face. The camera at present is under the eaves and positioned 100% horizontal as the entry to the...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Many thanks for the useful replies, I'll try these tips tonight. Hoping I don't have too much of an issue because my drive way is not pitch black. The council installed a new LED street lamp which just happens to be very close to my drive and is very bright white light. I do have a 50w LED...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Hi everyone This camera is great in the day and also fantastic at night where I have installed it on my drive way, but I'm having so much difficulty with motion blur at night. I have tried to minimize it by increasing shutter speed to 1/120 and increasing gain to 0-80 but still not happy...

Auto switch to USB 4G dongle if Ethernet broadband not working?

Thanks for the reply, I don't think the virgin media super hub (latest model) has any option for a SIM card. I'm not sure how I can configure another router with it that supports a SIM card? May be I could switch the virgin media super hub into modem only mode and purchase a wireless...

Auto switch to USB 4G dongle if Ethernet broadband not working?

hi I'm currently using a dedicated Dell Optiplex for Blue Iris, which is connected to my virgin media hub via Ethernet. I'm thinking of a backup method in case an intruder cuts the external cable wire or the internet service goes down, I won't get any alerts or have access to the system. I...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi tangent Yes, last night I got the multimeter out and can confirm alarm contacts are 100% dry, no voltage at all in any state. I then set the multimeter to 200 Ohms (lowest setting) for measuring resistance and when alarm contact is open I don't get any reading (just a static number 1...
