Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

The Dahua VTO2111D_WP is a WiFi/PoE enabled doorbell cam that works with Blue Iris. It has several critical failures though: 1) firmware support is non-existant 2) app is also outdated and low on features 3) requires DC power if you're connecting via doorbell wiring, which means you'll have to...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Sure, but if the WiFi access point is kept in the same spot, and after some days the camera slows down, and then doing nothing but restarting the camera fixes the slowdown, the cause must lie with the camera. It actually surprises me that the last major firmware update for this cam is...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I also initially blamed my WiFi. I do believe this is a genuine software (firmware) bug though. I am finding I have to reboot the LAView doorbell cam on a weekly basis because of this behavior. As a test case, I have another Hikvision cube cam (a DS-2CD2442FWD-IW) also on WiFi at almost exactly...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Has anyone else seen behavior with this cam where the video comes in very delayed and the web interface becomes very slow, after a few days of running? Restarting the camera always fixes the delay and makes the web interface respond normally again. I am running the most recent firmware.

How much cpu is too much for BI?

FYI, even a 6700 non-K with 16gb of RAM will run Blue Iris and 20 cameras with ease, with or without QuickSync.

How much cpu is too much for BI?

You and the guy who did this with a AMD Threadripper 1950X need to start a club together: buying the most expensive processor that is also among the least efficient ways to run Blue Iris, club! Short answer is no, that processor lacks Intel QuickSync, which when it works correctly lets you...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

Ok, flashed the bootloader and it flashed fine - camera isn't dead. But, after having run all of these commands successfully with valid firmware, camera still doesn't boot :( run da run dr run dk run du run dw run dc I still have not figured out how to successfully run "run dp". I thought...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

Ok, here is what I've just done: Ran the following commands using the official firmware from Dahua Wiki: run dr run dk run du run dw tftp 0x82000000 pd-x.cramfs.img; flwrite run dc With all successful writes and success.txt as the output. Notice I did not run "run dp", because that command...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

I don't have a serial cable, but I'd be open to buying one since I see they're like $10 on Amazon for a CP2102. Are you asking if I have tried using "run da" to load the bootloader? I have not done this (mostly because everyone says "don't flash the bootloader unless you REALLY NEED TO"). Is...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

Also, one thing I've noticed is that the bootloader on the firmware I linked above (2017-08-03) is DEFINITELY different than the official 2017-04-14 from Dahua Wiki. Could it be that the bootloader is incompatible with the lower firmware which is preventing the cam from starting? I have not...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

I bought it on Ebay back in December from a seller based in China, which is why I thought the cam might be China firmware hacked to English. I flashed the firmware through ConfigTool v3 from the Dahua Wiki. It did not give any errors while flashing, and it completed successfully and gave the...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

Thank you very much for helping me troubleshoot. When I run Console.bat, the window never populates with anything except for this: Ncat: Version 7.40 ( Ncat - Netcat for the 21st Century ) Ncat: Listening on 192.168.254.254:5002 I think I read that in some firmwares the bootloader isn't...

    VTO2111D-WP bricked, won't recover

Hello all, My VTO2111D-WP bricked during a firmware update and won't come back. It can't be seen by ConfigTool on port 3800, nor is port 23 or any other port accessible. It won't even respond to pings. Here are the steps I have taken to try and fix it: 1. Followed all instructions in the...

    Dahua VTO2111D-WP Information and Hacking

At another forum user’s request, here are some videos of the footage you get from this cam, both at night and during the day in a backlit situation. Footage while front lit is also very good (the cam faces due East and catches direct sun every morning), but obviously less contrasty and with more...

My support is also expired. Crazy that you need "support" to tell Ken that his software is lacking a feature that would be helpful to have, but this is the world we live in!

    Dahua VTO2111D-WP Information and Hacking

I just set this up for my business, and I wanted to share my thoughts. I have it running via WiFi. 1) Image quality is fine, though limited to 720P. Some people will find this to be a negative. 2) This camera interfaces with Blue Iris perfectly well. The following settings are used: Make...

    New AMD Ryzen

I'm sorry to tell you but this is not a great use for 1950X. To put it into perspective, I run a 27 camera system, cameras are all 1080P or higher at 10 fps. On an i7-3770 with 8gb of RAM this system sits at ~22% CPU use. Doubling frame rate to 20 fps as you have done would not result in double...

    BI slower after intel patch?

My CPU use is similar to what it was pre-patch. Also @fenderman, I wouldn't call the patch itself overblown. The worry about whether it will reduce your performance is overblown unless you're running software that makes a lot of calls to the kernel, but the exploits uncovered yesterday are...

Recommendation for rack mounted ESXI server

As a second attempt to help you, I spun up a brand new Windows 10 machine from scratch. With pass through of the GPU enabled Windows 10 finished installing fine, but I had the same issue of booting to a black screen as soon as the install was done. Powering down the VM and removing the GPU...

Recommendation for rack mounted ESXI server

Ok for what? As a Blue Iris system running on bare metal, it’ll be great. For running on ESXi I think you’ll be disappointed. By the way, I had some time this morning to mess with my ESXi setup. To remind you, I run an i7-3770 with VT-d support. I enabled pass through for the Intel GPU and...

    BI E-mail support?

I sent a bug report a couple days ago, and yesterday got a reply from Jennifer, who asked me for my serial. I gave her the serial and today I got a reply from Ken giving me a few tips to solve my problem, but concluded with "for more help you need to renew your support contract".

Need Help Finding A Powerful Tower PC For Blue Iris

Great point, but they may not even end it. The workaround to use a Windows 7 or Windows 8 key to clean install Windows 10 still works fine years after Microsoft ended it. My bet is, they'll move the Windows 10 Assistive Upgrade page into archived documentation and state that it doesn't work...

Need Help Finding A Powerful Tower PC For Blue Iris

A 3770 with 8gb of RAM will crunch 550 megapixels (26 cams at 1080P / 10fps) with ~14% CPU usage with the Blue Iris console open, and ~9% CPU use with it closed and Blue Iris running with as a service. Here's a refurbished unit on Ebay for $225, ready to go with Blue Iris.

blue iris suddenly a memory hog and at 100% cpu usage

I have the 100% CPU bug under a very different circumstance than other users here, but I will describe: On my system, if I open the Blue Iris console and select a clip to export with the following settings: MP4 No audio Re-encode to export 0 (export 0 being at stock settings, or altered...

Recommendation for rack mounted ESXI server

No, and I likely will not since in my case it requires bringing down critical systems in my home for testing. Power use of the system isn't very knowable because there'd be no way to segment out how much energy is being used by a given VM. Last I hooked it up to a wall it used about ~70 watts...

Recommendation for rack mounted ESXI server

I run Blue Iris on a virtualized system with a i7-3770. I only run 2 cams though. Without QuickSync Blue Iris uses ~7% CPU running as a service. I do all my viewing through the smartphone app, but the usage goes up somewhat when I open the interface on the computer that runs it.

Intel Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) i7-2600 and QuickSync question

For processor features to work, both the processor and motherboard need to support it. In your case, there's a 0% chance you'll get QuickSync working, even if the processor supports it because the motherboard doesn't. The 2600k is still a fantastic processor for running Blue Iris. I have a 3770...

Recommendation for rack mounted ESXI server

There's limited information on the internet about doing passthrough of Intel HD Graphics on ESXi. It would be super easy to test though. Install ESXi and add a Windows 10 Guest. Make sure the hardware supports VT-d and then check in ESXi to see if you can passthrough the Intel Graphics to the...

i5-3470 or i5-3570 worth trying with blue iris?

How fun! I can speak to this. At my work we were running an i5-3570K at stock speeds. We pieced this system together from junk we had lying around. This system ran 26 Hikvision cameras at 10fps / 1080P. UI2 reported CPU usage ranging from 40-57%, with an average of about 48% CPU use. During...
