    BI5 with NAS recording issues

Had to replace the work PC and couldn't locate our license for BI4, so purchased and installed 5 using imported settings from 4 (Win 10 machine). I'm doing all of my recording to a hardwired NAS in another building. This is mapped as the Z: drive. If I set the recording folder as z:\BlueIris...

Dahua Starlight Recessed Dome PTZ (SD52C225U-HNI)

Need clarification here. Never having worked with one, I was under the impression that a POE splitter stripped the power out of the RJ45. Does it instead (as the name implies, duh) split the power off so you can power the cam through the RJ45 per usual and use the DC out to power a mic...

    BlueIris setup for (IPC-HDBW4431R-AS)

I would like to think so though in this particular forum I don't have the breadth of knowledge to be of much real help. At this point, here, I'm one of the annoying people asking the questions, lol. You did understand that I was saying that, in effect, if people stop asking questions forums...

    BlueIris setup for (IPC-HDBW4431R-AS)

Literally everything is already posted somewhere. People still ask (and answer). It's the nature of forums (shrug).

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

IMO, (which I realize matters not in the slightest) if all that can be here is the technicals of the cam we were pretty much dead after the first post.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Got most of my cams a couple days ago (only 3 days in transit, btw). The order was short some junction boxes. When I pointed it out he owned the problem immediately and proposed what I consider to be a completely satisfactory resolution. Service like this is unheard of out of China. I hope...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

If I've learned anything in all these years of working with PC's it is that there is no such thing as future proof. Was supposed to be smiley emojis here so would know it was in jest, lol.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

FWIW I've been on the list for 6 since mid February and only got an invoice a couple days ago. I have to think he is doing this pretty much in order but it's just a long line.

    More camera questions

Cool, not to sound dense (yeah, too late), but would there be a built in mic or will I need something else for audio? Thanks!

    More camera questions

Man, the learning curve is steeper than I ever would have imagined. Looking for a PTZ for indoor retail environment. Would prefer a dome to make it somewhat less obvious when I'm moving it around. Starlight, as it will pull night duty as well (max 60 feet with some security lights present, so...

Camera reccomdations and poke holes in my setup please

You guys are killing me. Started out thinking I was gonna pick up a packaged system at Sam's. Now I have 6 ipc-hdw5231r-z turrets ordered from Andy, an Optiplex 3040 in which I will put a 128Gb SSD for the OS and a 6Tb WD purple drive for data, POE switch... Please tell me there is an end...

Camera reccomdations and poke holes in my setup please

Lol, definitely not unlimited budget. Nothing to steal >50 feet, but we have had some trouble with the neighbor kids throwing rocks and eggs at the camper. Would be handy to hand the police a video.

Camera reccomdations and poke holes in my setup please

No cam #7 there, that was my best guess of the view from cam #4 beyond that corner. Still studying old posts and working things out. Sounds like I'm going to have to rethink my 90 degree FOV assumption.

Camera reccomdations and poke holes in my setup please

Hoping this is the correct place and you can overlook my nonexistent CAD skills! I have, somewhat randomly, assumed 90 degree field of view. Anyway, attached is a rough drawing of my house & yard, I have drawn in what I think I need for camera placement but am very open to suggestions. I know...
