What is your experience with Sentry?

I ended up shutting off the trial on my cameras. I was missing too many alerts such as cars pulling in or out of the driveway. Hoping that I will have the ability to try a trial again in the future after there has been further work on it to see if it will meet my needs.

What is your experience with Sentry?

Just turned this on for a few of my cameras to trial it. Is there a way we can help by sending a clip or something to improve it? I just went out to walk the dogs and only had alerts on 1 camera vs the 3 that usually email me when I walk by.

    Rich Notifications

Hello- I have had a Blue Iris server setup for some time now. In the past, I have always had it set to send me an email with a few pictures any time there is motion. In a recent update, I noticed rich notifications were mentioned. After looking into it further, I would like to use this instead...

    4.8.3 - November 1, 2018

Any suggestions on how to get rich notifications working? I get the push notification fine, but it never includes a picture or gif. I setup stunnel in case that was needed but it didn't seem to help. Thanks!

    Blue Iris UI3

Good to know, thank you. Yeah, I'm not sure what happened. I did the update and the UI went down. After placing the new files it has been up solid.

    Blue Iris UI3

Just installed this. Whatever comes with 4.7.5.3 wasn't working. After I installed this and restarted the service, it was back up and running with no issues.

    Viofo A119 PRO pre sale

Only things I have set so far are turning on WDR, set time lapse to longest (10 minutes), and set date and time. I think I'm going to set the exposure to the first negative value and see if that helps with what I'm seeing. I look forward to seeing what you change as well.

    Viofo A119 PRO pre sale

Received and installed mine yesterday. Very happy with it so far, but it will definitely need some firmware tweaking. Night time is a bit noisy and day time is a bit overexposed at the moment. Other than that, I am really liking it!

Splitting 1 Cat5 to run 2 Poe cameras

I would personally never do this. The "proper" way to do this would be to get a small PoE switch. There is no right way to split RJ45/cat 5 other than using a switch. Another reason not to do this is now you have all of that wire exposed and not properly twisted to prevent interference, cross...

HDView 3MP Megapixel IP Network Camera ONVIF PoE

Hello Clegg- I just received an older version of firmware from my fs.com support person. I installed it on one of my cameras for now, in case it causes other issues. Looks like it is version 7.1.30.3. I did not do a factory reset after installing it, I'm curious to see how it works tonight. Here...

HDView 3MP Megapixel IP Network Camera ONVIF PoE

Hi Clegg - I'm having the same exact issue with 2 cameras I purchased from fs.com. Link to them is here: 3MP Indoor/Outdoor Dome Camera With Infrared | FS.COM If I do a factory reset on them, the IR works for that one evening. The next evening it stays black as the filter is not opening and...

Yes, exactly the same! The screenshot of the IRCut looks exactly like the menu I have as well. Thanks for sharing!

FS.com IP Camera (Herospeed I think)

Hello, I purchased 2 of these cameras last year: 3MP Indoor/Outdoor Dome Camera With Infrared | FS.COM They work well. Like an idiot, I found some newer firmware on herospeed.net website that matched the camera. I downloaded and installed. Camera still works, but now at night it does not pick...

Looks like 4.6.9.2 has been released, but did not fix the h265 issue.

H265 Camera - Turn HW decode on?

Hello, Quick question hopefully. I have 2 cameras that are H265. Should I leave the HW decode on or off for those 2 cameras? They are both doing direct to disk recording. Thanks! Jeff

    fs.com IP Camera

Hello All, Just wanted to give a heads up that I found a fairly cheap IP camera that appears to be working well. See the link here: 3MP Indoor/Outdoor Dome Camera With Infrared | FS.COM I just received 2 of them yesterday. I plugged them into my POE switch, installed their little finder app on...

What CPU and video card do I need for these 8 cameras - headless?

Be careful on what form factor you buy as well. Some can only hold one hard drive while others more and different sizes.

What CPU and video card do I need for these 8 cameras - headless?

I just purchased an Optiplex 3040 off eBay. It is working great for me!

I highly recommend anything with an i5-6500 processor in it. That's what I just upgraded to and it runs excellent!

    Motion Detection Adjustment Help

Hello All- Please see the attached picture. I get a lot of false positives that look like this picture. It could be a bug or rain, either way, I don't want to get the alert on it if possible. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to tweak the motion detection to not detect this? Let me...

    Steaming Issue

Hello, just wanted to write a last update for anyone who may visit this thread in the future. For the heck of it, I borrowed a computer from work (HP ProDesk 600 G2) that has an i5-6500 cpu in it. I've had it running BI for around 5 days now with ZERO issues. Turns out the issues I have been...

    Steaming Issue

I see. I have 1 that is similar, but all 3 of mine are POE and don't need the adapter/injectors. I just don't understand why these cameras are butter smooth in their terrible CMS software but glitchy like this in BlueIris. I understand they are super cheap, but that was the appeal and figured I...

    Steaming Issue

So you think it is the camera and not a BlueIris server/computer issue? I just find it weird that it is fine for a while after I reboot the server, but then eventually starts doing this. CPU usage is low, so it doesn't seem like it is a CPU issue.

    Steaming Issue

Still having the issue even after putting a different switch in. Here is an example of what I see: Let me know what you think. CPU usage sits around 11 to 15%.

    Steaming Issue

Started having the issue last night and the CPU was hovering around 12 to 20%. Checked again today and now it is fine even though it hasn't rebooted. I need to do some looking, but I'm wondering if it is a switch utilization issue. Will update if I come up with anything.
  28. Jeff DeWolfe

    Steaming Issue

I just rebooted it, so it is of course running fine. I'll check a little later to see if it has changed. The cpu right now is sitting at 20 to 25%.

    Steaming Issue

No, all 3 cameras are hard wired to an HP Procurve 2520 POE switch. The laptop is also connected to that same switch.
