Based on advice here I'm setting up Blue Iris. It seems a lot of times onvif is recommended. But Blue Iris has a dahua setting. Which is preferable?

I had been under the impression one can demo Blue Iris, but the page linked to here says "all sales final". Is there a 2 week demo period buying through here? Or only directly from the company?
