    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

I see the latest firmware has upgraded the ISAPI to 2.4. Has anyone seen any documentation for ISAPI 2.4 in their travels?? Want my home automation system to change the image profile (night, day, nightfall) etc as the current time based settings via the website are too crude !!! I think the...

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

No heard any noises like that - does it go away after the power sequence? Mine is mounted now, so I cannot hear anything from it. Not sure they have fans in these as they are pretty sealed up.

Did I mention the software is a bit strange?!?! Well I thought I had made it up, as I could not find it - finally after going around and around - set the image 'scene' to outdoor - and a new heading appears 'Other', in there you have lens init, and zoom limit - I set it there to 20, and it...

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

Not a fan of digital zoom - so have that turned off. Not sure about the IR thing myself either - it could be assembly issue with the dividers inside the dome seperating the sensor & IR emitters.

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

I find the night picture quite bright at my required min shutter of 1/150 - so I have taken the gain down to 50, and dropped the DNR to 35. I find a high DNR really drops the picture quality on tracking and moving objects - DNR of 30-35 is a very good compromise especially when you are not...

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

Ok the night performance of this camera is pretty impressive. I mounted it next to one of my old DS-2CD2032-I 3mp models, and I set the exposure to match. 2032 settings Min Exposure 1/150 Gain 90 Day Mode, No IR. WDR 5 DNR 50 2DE4A220IW settings Min Exposure 1/150 Gain 94 Day Mode, No IR...

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

Oh - BTW this thing is quiet, you can barelly hear the PTZ in action - so much so that no one in the office has noticed it tracking them moving around!!!

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

Got mine this morning - still playing with it on the bench, but the auto tracking works quite well (albeit it is upside down !!) - I will try and get some like for like night shots vs my old 2332 3MP once it is mounted in place.

@FrankMCN - The street looks like you are in the UK - my road pretty similiar just wider, the grass on the pavement darkens the scene quite a bit on the older cameras. My street light levels are probably lower than yours due to being wider road, hence light poles are much higher.

@FrankMCN - great info thanks. I may just get one to see - I am still running the older 3MP turrets, if it is an improvement on them - then I should be ok!!!

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

It is a tough choice - the physical size & format of this cam is perfect for the area I had in mind - but ideally I could do with a low lux camera !! Shame they have not used the same sensor as the new DS-2CD2335FWD-I - would make the perfect cam for me.

    Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

Thanks for the night shot - what is the exposure / gain / wdr settings for that? the noise is pretty low, I assume using the builtin IR? Thanks.

How is the autotracking settings like for this cam? Is the size or zoom or other advanced settings like found on the Dahua cams? Also what is the nightvision like, say compared to the original 3MP turrets (2332) ?

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Can anyone point me to a proper user manual for this camera? Wanted to check that it can use windows folder shares (SMB) for storage, as currently used by my Hikvision cams. Also what is the prefered method of viewing this cam on mobile devices (android especially).

    DS-2CD2325FWD-I 2MP Ultra-Low Light Network Turret Camera

Thanks for that - I would really like to see how much noise is in the picture with the following settings: Shutter 1/120 Gain 50 DNR 50 Considering the detail in dark areas in the distance with a bright tree near field - it is looking really promising, compared to my 2332's. Thanks.

    Hikvision Playback and Motion Blur

It is not frame rate which causes motion blur - the minimum shutter rate (or exposure time in Hikvision language) effects this, depending on the relative speed of the object across the field of view of the camera you will need a minimum shutter speed of 1/100 to maybe 1/500. For my street view...

Do I need a hardware NVR to record rare motion events?

Actually I had this problem and I learnt a little secret - QUOTA!! if you are using NFS you need to switch over to SMB, and setup seperate 'windows users' on the computer which is hosting the SMB share - and then on the underlying drive set a quota for each of the users. Then enter the users...

    DS-2CD2325FWD-I 2MP Ultra-Low Light Network Turret Camera

Keen to see what you think of the night performance, thinking of getting a couple of more turrets but could do with relocating my current 2032 models that need better night perf.
