How do I clear a user lockout after too many login attempts?

How do I clear a user lockout after too many login attempts? I thought changing the password would do it, but it doesn't. Shirley there's a way to reset user lockout without waiting an hour?

Reolink Trackmix PoE - Still Problematic?

How do you use the two streams? Do they work like two separate cameras? I want to use different settings and permissions for each "lens." Can I do that?

Reolink Trackmix PoE - Still Problematic?

I like the features and price of this outdoor dome POE cam. The separate telephoto lens sounds like a great idea. It would be nice to have the two lenses appear as two different cams so I could use different PTZ and access settings for each. But I've seen posts from late 2022 complaining about...

    Stunnel vs NGROK vs ZeroTier?

I have a handful of webcams running under BI on a suitable Windows pc. Security wasn't much of a concern because I live in a very rural area with no neighbors within wifi range, and my internet connection was very weak. I didn't feel like an inviting target. Now I have a very modest but workable...

One Cable to Webcam and WAP?

Thanks. Nice to know there is such a thing. But I'll need to find one that's weatherproof!

One Cable to Webcam and WAP?

I'm planning to install my first outdoor webcam, and wondering if there's a way to run one POE line to the location and use it to connect and power both a webcam and a Wi-Fi access point. I assume there's not enough juice for both within the standard, or I'd be able to find one on Amazon. Is...

Yup. I went with the Noctua NH-L9i. System is completed.

    2.5" Form Factor HDD?

Thanks for the info. I figured that was why WD doesn't make 2.5" drives in the Purple line. I'll go with the shorter cooler.

    2.5" Form Factor HDD?

I have a small dilemma with my small case (Milo 11). I have to either use a shorter cooler on my processor, or switch from a 3.5" HDD to a 2.5" HDD. I was going to use a WD Purple 4TB. I really only need 2TB. Should I choose a slightly less efficient cooler for my i5-12400? or should I switch...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

------------- My situation is definitely different than most here, I think. I'm very rural. Crime is not a big issue out here (knock knock). I like to peek around when I'm not at home and make sure all is well. I like to get alerts for driveway activity. I let a few friends look out my window...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

----------------- That's very condescending. I have read the relevant instructions on a real computer. Forgive me if I haven't plunged deep enough into the material to meet your expectations. I certainly applied all the performance recommendations for v4 system and camera settings long ago...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

-------------- I do like building my own systems when I think it makes sense. I used to build my own motorbikes for the same reasons - I enjoyed building them, I could make them to fit my needs precisely, and I could trust that everything was put together right. And if I did have a problem...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

----------------- Thanks for educating me on that. Do the CMR drives last as long? I'm not sure I need it, because I only record for motion alerts, and that only on 2-3 of the cams. I don't do constant recording on any of them, although I do have some of the individual cams set to record on...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

----------- Maybe you can help me understand this. I shopped Purple drives and noticed that most of them are running at 5400 RPM. Since most of the other high end HDDs I was looking at were 7200 it struck me as odd. I suspect I misunderstand the relationship between RPMs and streaming...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

-------- I don't want a system with a bunch of 7+ year old components, but I'm sure you're right - My old system is probably misconfigured. Is there a clear, up to date configuration guide here that I could use to correct it? In any case, I don't think my 7 year old HP Slimline is going to...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

-------------- Thanks. My HDD knowledge is weak, and that's advice I can use. I'll switch that drive to Purple and double the storage space. I'm not recording much to disk. I only do continuous recording to SD cards in the cams themselves.

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

---------- I wasn't sure the substreams were working either, so I reduced the resolution on the main streams and my V4 console still chokes or crashes every day on my sad little HP.

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

I said in my post that I'm not planning to use AI. I currently only have five cams - Two are 720x480, two are 1920x1080, and one is 1920x1080. I'll be upgrading the old SDs to HDs or UHDs in the near future, and will likely be adding 2-3 more cams. So, I'm trying to build a stable platform for...

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

---------------------------- My old system is an HP Slimline Desktop 260-a010z I bought in 2016 and it can't even run the console without choking. I'm using substreams in V4 now, and I'm paying less than $200 for the i5-12400.

New Computer Build - Feedback before I start buying parts?

I'm replacing an old HP system that barely runs Blue Iris version 4, with a new build to support Blue Iris version 5 service and run the console. I'm a novice builder and would appreciate any constructive criticism or suggestions to improve performance or save money. I don't plan to use AI. I've...

New Build for BI - DDR5 or DDR4?

I'm building a new pc to be my Blue Iris server and to run the console. My current quandary is whether to move to DDR5 or stick with DDR4. My case needs to be slim, and that limits my motherboard selection. DDR5 Micro-ATX motherboards are hard to find. I'm only going to run 5-7 webcams, and I...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some major benefit. The functionality is interesting, but unnecessary for my current needs.

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

I don't think I need AI. My triggers for movement on my current old V4 system seem to work well enough for me. I don't think I need object recognition. Also, from reading some of the AI threads it seems to be glitchy. What am I going to miss out on if I build a system incapable of running AI well?

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

I'm not familiar with the new Blue Iris' use of AI, so I'm not sure what you're saying. You're saying a separate GPU is better if I'm using the AI, but otherwise just use the onboard processor? I'll probably never exceed nine webcams.

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

Thanks for that info on the card vs onboard graphics. It puzzled me why one would want a nice graphics card on the console, much less the server. I never thought of the off-loading of graphics processing saving cycles on the main processor. I agree it's a nit in most situations. I'll go with the...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

I was hoping to use my BI server to also run the console, which I display next to my TV so I can keep an eye on things and have easy access to the system. Is there any reason I can't run the console on the same machine running the service with v5? I've always done it with v3 through v4. Any...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

Ah! So THAT's why they recommend Win 10 Pro instead of Home! I do hate those updates coming down at bad times, or the bad updates coming down at good times! lol Any other benefit from paying for Pro over Home?

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

In my old job I worked with a local firm that would recycle truckloads of office pcs and other equipment for me. They did a great job of reconditioning the ones that were worth it, and I did buy a printer or two from them after I retired. Unfortunately, I think they're out of business. Not sure...

New Hardware and BI v5 - Graphics requirements?

That's an economical option for sure! I'm not sure if I want to go with used. Temping, though. What's the other end of the spectrum? A system based on one of the processors I mentioned? Even buying new, the configuration you suggest would be less money and time than I was fearing.
