    Random outage on certain cameras.

Well, I spoke too soon. Still doing it. I'm curious why BI stops attempting to reconnect at some point. The cam is obviously available, if all it takes is a toggle of any setting in the camera Properties to initiate a reconnect. And you can see half the cameras have a rare connection drop...

    Random outage on certain cameras.

I'll be damned. The storage was the issue. I've set half the cameras to record to internal drive, the rest to USB array. Not a single failure overnight. Not sure why I didn't check this before. I'me going to put another Mobius box and split the workload.

    Random outage on certain cameras.

I can't seem to track down the issue. Cameras are a mix of Reolink, Dahua, and Hik clones. The brand is irrelevant, as I have the same model camera with issues while another one is perfectly fine. If I restart BlueIris and reboot the switch, all cameras will come back online eventually. But...

How do you run BI in Windows 10 without interruptions?

Does that work for you? I've been fighting Windows updates for months. I think I've used that method in the past. But eventually MS backdoors their way in and reactivates their code injections. The main issue, as I see, is that some updates require a user to log in to complete. When it reboots...

How do you run BI in Windows 10 without interruptions?

Seems 3 of my BI clients constantly have issues due to Win10 updates. Check on the PC and it's logged off. Log in - new updates screen. Get to the desktop - BI is off. Has been off for 2 weeks. I run it as a service on all. The only machines that are 24/7/365 reliable for me are Windows 7. What...

Cable tester or qualifier for IP cams?

How can there be any signal, if the wires are mis-matched?

Cable tester or qualifier for IP cams?

That's partially my question. Most of them list cross-wire, shorts, opens, distance to the fault. But for crosstalk, it seems I would need to drop $8k for a high-end Fluke. I'm not doing that. This is a pot farm with greenhouses, warehouse, storage containers, open grow. The cameras are in very...

Cable tester or qualifier for IP cams?

Up until now I've been using a basic toner and a pin tester for my wiring. I'm working on a site with 36 cams on a PoE switch. About 9 of those cams have constant signal loss events (hundreds a day per BI). I've replaced a couple of them, assuming it was the cams. The issue persists. I suspect...

    IVMS software "Run Error"

Had the same issue. Installed as Domain Admin. Still errors on launch as admin. Win 7 pro x64. What worked for me: Run uninstall, say 'yes.' At the end it will ask, if you want all components removed - say 'no.' Go to Program Files and add full access to everyone to IVMS folder (still there...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Does your tool recreate an account or just resets the password for an existing one? What do you think it will do for my NVR (Hikvision camera admin password reset tool), assuming the vulnerability is present?

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I've been able to get a reset code from the seller, and have successfully reset the admin password. The user name is still screwed up, however. It's a selection menu in the GUI, so I don't have to type the username in, just the password. Remotely/web/IVMS cannot access as admin because the admin...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I have a rebranded NVR DS-7616NI-E2/8P. After flashing firmware, all my user accounts got corrupted. I can access as admin via GUI on the device without authenticating (just cancel on prompt and get full access). However, web or IVMS doesn't authenticate with the credentials I've created before...

Using remote Laptop as IP cam

What ^ he said. Also, even a $50 ip camera will blow away the integrated potato on that laptop, in terms of generating a usable image.

Is there an IP camera 'agnostic' NVR?

That's what ONVIF is for. Theoretically. In practice, it can be a crap shoot. If you want a stand-alone solution, IME, Hikvision has much better 3rd party support than Dahua (even though the latter boasts an impressive list of "compatible" vendors).

    BI, VPN and Unifi USG

Doesn't sound like a BI issue. Routing and firewall.

Does Blue Iris utilize multiple cores/cpu's?

FWIW, I have a Xeon 3220, I think, at some site. It chokes with 6+ streams. While i5-6500 runs 16 streams at ~45%. If your CPU usage by the BI service is unstable, try disabling every camera and re-enable after a minute of idle. I was pegging 90% until I did that, right after adding them all.

    Blue Iris and hard drives

I've been experiencing terrible lag when moving 2GB files from "New" to "Stored" every hour. It would queue the drives so bad, some active camera streams would interrupt (16x1080p@12fps). I say select New path as the permanent storage.

BI writes 4GB files every 2-3hrs...

I have it set to write to "New" folder, which is on my 40TB eSATA array. Retention is 90 days. I see 4GB files written every 2-to-3 hours. That means, if something crashes, I can lose up to 3 hours of footage. Not good. BI temp is empty. Where is it writing to until the file is compiled?
