    CCA Myth?

Let me make this clear. I DO NOT take shortcuts in anything i do. I thought i was buying cable that met my requirements and the worker said it was fine. I assumed since it was an Australian retailer with an ABN there must be some sort of certification requirement to sell the items but i was...

    CCA Myth?

besides the chance of damaging the ends is there any other downside besides costs. dont factor cost in. i should be alright then in 30m pure copper lengths pre-terminated and when installing i will make sure i dont get it stuck/snagged. would this be ok??

    CCA Myth?

Australian mate. Bunnings is a DIY store for pretty much everything and it is very iconic to Aus so im surprised you never heard of it mentioned here. Im going to order from farnell unless someone has objections. I actually bought my fluke temp gun and keysight multimeter from there so i feel...

    CCA Myth?

hmmmmm...... so where can i buy trusted pure copper pre-crimped 30m lengths. is bunnings a good source? i know they are expensive vs other places but if its trusted id rather do that because changing the cables is a pain in the back side. mainly because of my roof tiles are terracotta and they...

    CCA Myth?

Been using CCA cable for over 9 months and not 1 fire has started, no sign of insulation melting, no sign of charred beams or roof insulation so why should i upgrade to pure copper? these cables i have used survived an entire week of a summer heatwave resulting in 47C+ and still no issues. that...

New House, outdoor rough wiring for security cameras

No not bust the world and WiFi wont be doing that any time soon. A better topic to bring up is how could one person verify their cables are indeed Cat6? multi-meter or a cable tester? I would love to know actually even though my cat6 seems to be doing well for 4k resolution. Would be good for OP...

Alarm Input > Notify Surveillance Center Fail

I have got both alarm input and output working 100 percent. had to import the alarm as a resource in iVMS-4200 before i could get any notifications for alarm input detections. i am 5.4.5 so i think i read there is a problem in 5.5.1 though so if you need these features roll back if possible to...

Is there an alternative to ivMS-4200

Holy dinosaur. That is definitely without doubt not a good enough. Is upgrading an option? My pc is amd 8320, 8gb ram and uses rx 480 gpu and runs 4k playback on iVMS smoothly until i hit x8 on fast forward. Thats to give you an idea. My pc is also cheap except the gpu. I THINK you can switch...

Is there an alternative to ivMS-4200

In "system configuration > image" there is "hardware decoding preferred". Maybe this will help, Assuming you have a decent GPU to use. I think thats what it means by "hardware", what else is there lol Im also on an old amd 8320 so just how old is your PC anyway.

Alarm Input > Notify Surveillance Center Fail

Hi all Sorry to bother again but i am almost got this working. I installed a PIR sensor to alarm input port 1 and the NVR sees it fine and works fine but there is 1 option i NEED. I want the NVR to send me the "Notify Surveillance Center" stuff to my desktop. I have done all the most obvious...

Person of Interest? It's already happening.

You have a point though most theft around here are full of guys who wouldn't step into a yard with high end IR cameras.

Person of Interest? It's already happening.

True. The weak point is the software on the PC when using ivms for example. You can isolate the cameras and nvr from internet but the PC side.... hmmmm i only have front yard cams anyway. Backyard is for privacy IMO.

Person of Interest? It's already happening.

What if i didnt port forward and only use LAN? Im safe right since my cams cant remote in from external IP

Person of Interest? It's already happening.

wait, china has access to millions of cameras? please elaborate, my paranoia is tingling, might put an IP block on my NVR for WAN/WLAN if this is what i think it is. if you're referring to that backdoor well thats fixed in my f/w.

    PIR wiring

im just trying to avoid reboot until the plug is confirmed as OK because when i reboot i have to re-toggle 2 switches in each camera to get my tuned settings for some reason. That means using virtual host and logging etc which is annoying since i do it all week trying to get this alarm panel working
