I will be running it on a 24/7 basis instead of motion detection. I wanted to run it on max 4mp setting and was hoping to get about a months worth of footage from 10 cameras. I know I may not hit the target but I want to get as close as possible which is why I was looking at h.265.

The reason I want h.265 is so that I can maximise my recording time length. The nvr I was looking at can only take 2x6tb which doesn't give much recording time when running at full 4mp resolution. Please offer alternative suggestions that would be better suited. I can probably stretch the budget...

There are quite a few nvr listed on hikvision website with support for h.265. I think the 2cd2145 also supports it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Well not sure what I did but these are the steps I followed which got it working. I messed around with the ports turning off uPNP and setting ports manually and also turning uPNP off on router. Seemed not to make a difference. I then proceeded to reboot the router and the uPNP was turned on...

The IPV4 address is 192.168.1.10 so its the same subnet. Tracert fails at the first hop. I'm not at the site to do the full tracert but I have tried it already.

I managed to navigate the chinese menu and update the firmware via usb. No need for tftp. I had 3.10 already and just updated it with the 3.10 from hikvisioneuropes website and used the above method to modify the language to 2. All menus in english now. Thank you OP and whoslooking.

Is it not possible to use the option of a local file from usb to upgrade the firmware? Does it have to be via tftp? Or does version 3.10 allow upgrade from usb?
