Dahua DH-DB6I Video Doorbell Has Lost Chime?

Bump. Is the ChimeKit needed for all chimes or just a mechanical chime?

Dahua DH-DB6I Video Doorbell Has Lost Chime?

I think I've narrowed the problem down to a failed "ChimeKit". Hard reset didn't help. When I remove the doorbell completely and just short the two wires from the transformer, the mechanical chime dings normally. When the doorbell is hooked up, it rings my phone and is providing a normal...

Dahua DH-DB6I Video Doorbell Has Lost Chime?

DMSS app still shows the mechanical chime option selected. I guess I'll have to remove the Dahua and power kit for chime in order to just test the mechanical chime with a normal doorbell button.

Dahua DH-DB6I Video Doorbell Has Lost Chime?

My DH-DB6I video doorbell has been working fine with a mechanical chime for about 18 months. The video stream still works with Blue Iris 5. But recently the mechanical chime no longer dings when the doorbell button is pushed. The doorbell is obviously still getting power from the 24 VAC...

Weird Blue Iris Or Dahua Overlay Issue

Oh, thank you! So smart! I don't ever intentionally zoom the image in Blue Iris. I doubt I would have ever figured that out. :)

Weird Blue Iris Or Dahua Overlay Issue

I have multiple Dahua IPC T5442T-ZE cameras working in Blue Iris 5. On every camera I have the Dahua overlay enabled showing the channel title and the time title. When I look at my cameras using UI3, I see the overlays on every camera. When I open Blue Iris 5 and look at the cameras, there is...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

I guess I should ask now. I've never setup and used a TFTP server. Do I copy and paste your whole list of commands at once? Or do I wait for each command to finish before typing in the next command? Thanks again.

Did I Just Brick My Camera?

I had actually seen this comment previously. When I reached out to Andy, I asked him if the chipset might have been the cause for my problem. He didn't really confirm this, but instead indicated that the firmware should have worked on all versions of IPC-T5442T-ZE. But it didn't work, so...

Did I Just Brick My Camera?

EmpireTech IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.840.15OG00D.0.R.220818.bin I used this on 9 other cameras without difficulty. The bricked camera was the oldest of the bunch however. I don't know if that caused the problem.

Did I Just Brick My Camera?

Several factory resets have not helped. I reached out to Andy, but he only said I'd have to use a serial connection and gave no detail. Can anyone help further?

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

I have apparently bricked my IPC-T5442T-ZE while doing an uncomplicated firmware update. I used the web interface of the camera (like I have done with 9 other cameras). The update progress bar went to completion and stated "rebooting". Since then I cannot connect to the camera with my...

Did I Just Brick My Camera?

The camera is connected as follows to avoid any connection to the internet: Camera>POE Switch>Dual NIC Blue Iris computer on 192.168.1.X port>Dual NIC Blue Iris Computer on 192.168.0.X port>2nd POE Switch>Router>Internet. I use Remote Desktop from a computer on the 192.168.0.X network to...

Did I Just Brick My Camera?

I have numerous IPC-T5442T-ZE cameras that I started purchasing in 2020. I have updated the firmware on 6 of the newer cameras using the web interface and Internet Explorer. It has always worked fine. Today I tried the same process with my oldest camera. It had its original firmware. I...

IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

I've added two new IPC-T5442TM-AS-2.8mm cameras from Andy recently. I set them up manually using Internet Explorer with the automatic plugins that you can ok for install. On both cameras, initially I could not make any setting changes on the video tab. There were no drop down menus, etc. I...

I know you can create problems with camera firmware updates. But I have multiple Dahua T5442T-ZE cameras, with different firmware. Some firmware have different settings than others. I'd like to update them all (or most) to a good firmware release. Is the posted firmware a good choice? My...

If I connect to my Dahua cameras' web interfaces using Edge, the "zoom and focus" window is black. If I use the very old Internet Explorer, and allow the plugin to download, the window shows a live image. :)

    Camera Video Settings Help?

My old age memory returns! I now remember that with my camera fps rate set at 20, I set the I Frame interval to 40 because of recommendations from ipcamtalk forums. At the time, members were recommending an I Frame setting of twice the fps. Has that recommendation changed? Also, I just tried...

    Blue Iris Hardware Decode Option?

Thank you. I will look at the wiki and links provided. I haven't delved into more advanced settings with my BI recording. I have large hard drives so I have just been recording continuously. I haven't set up motion triggers on my cameras. I'm sure there are many good reasons to do so. But...

    Camera Video Settings Help?

Thank you both! That makes sound sense. Do you have any problem using H.264H as opposed to H.264B or H.264? I saw an internet post that showed that Dahua cameras can actually use a lower bit rate with H.264H, where some other brands (i.e. Samsung, et. al.) actually use higher bit rates when...

    Blue Iris Hardware Decode Option?

OK, I am clearly the grasshopper here and need some master help. I have never understood why or how to use substreams. My camera settings show they have a much lower resolution by default. I believe when I view my cameras in BI, I'm looking at the main, full resolution stream. Please educate...

    Blue Iris Hardware Decode Option?

I run BI5 on a fast Intel PC. Under camera settings, video tab, there is a "hardware decode" setting. My cameras are all on "default". Should I change to either "Intel", "Intel +VPP" or "Intel Beta"? Thanks.

    Camera Video Settings Help?

I have Blue Iris 5 running on a fast Intel PC. The majority of my cameras are Empire Tech T5442T-ZE models running at 2688x1520 resolution. I was looking at the video tab on my camera's web interfaces. I don't really remember how I chose the various settings, but I'm encoding with H.264H...

    Review-Dahua/EmpireTech new doorbell cam Db6l 5mp

I ask because it certainly is not an option in the app DMSS. There is a network setting in SmartPSS. But it already has a default static IP address listed, while my doorbell is currently using an address assigned by my router using DHCP. I don't know if I changed the default static IP entries...

    Suggestions For Front Door?

Is there a reason why you shouldn't mount a T5442T on a vertical wall directly (next to my front door) and then just angle the camera down a bit? I probably won't use a junction box to minimize the bulky look. It seems like with vertical walls people usually use a mount such as this: Amazon.com...
