Outdoor wifi camera with excellent motion detection

Looking for suggestions for a outdoor WiFi camera with excellent motion detection, possibly with a PIR detection. Budget is under $200. Current setup is an AHD Hikvision wired camera. It does well but I have some very challenging lighting. We get fast moving clouds and my neighbor also has a...

Hikvision compatible PC client viewer alternatives?

It can, some info on the VLC mosaic view is here: software to view all my cameras in grid That might work for some, but I'd prefer to keep the amount of ports open to a minimum so I don't want to have RTSP open as well.

Hikvision compatible PC client viewer alternatives?

Exactly what I was looking for. I agree, the program has some limitations, but it comes up in about 5 seconds versus a minute. I'm willing to take those limitations for the performance boost. Thank you!

Hikvision compatible PC client viewer alternatives?

I works fine, but I have to login, then load cameras and stuff, it probably takes longer just than bringing up IVMS.

Hikvision compatible PC client viewer alternatives?

Are there any alternative DVR/NVR/Camera software tools that will allow you to connect to a Hik DVR besides the official IVMS-4200? Even though I have decent hardware, the newer versions of IVMS take a minute to come up, not exactly an eternity, but I don't need a full NVR recording package to...

Is there a minimum time between line crossing alarms triggering emails?

No sure about the cameras, but the DVRs don't have any, I dozens of messages at certain times of the day (neighbors flag casts a shadow and its a windy day). I wish they did have an option to wait a few minutes before notifying again.

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Has anyone taken their camera apart and physically disabled the IRs? If no software solution is available, I'm going down that route I think. I already have good IR coverage in that IR from another camera. The in camera IR makes a mess of the image and it makes my doorbell hum when it is on.

    Frustrated with Email Alerts

Draw the line as close to the house as you can tolerate. That will get the headlights and most of the critters out of the equation.

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I wonder if changing apps was the issue or just re-logging into the "cloud." I've noticed a few of the cloud camera apps only send push notifications to the last logged in device. I'm on Android and definitely get doorbell rings on IVMS-4500, though it isn't close to being 100% reliable.

A reboot usually fixes the not ringing issue for me.

DIY Wedge for Hikvision Wi-fi Video Doorbell from composite shims

That's a great idea. I walked around home depot trying to find something but didn't think of the door stop. I was hoping for some synthetic decking stuff but nothing really fit the bill. I have a 3d printer I need to set up for this type of thing.

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

If anyone is looking for an angle mount, this sort of works. Its a bit wider and shorter than it needs to be but it all works ok. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075WNZT8P

DIY Wedge for Hikvision Wi-fi Video Doorbell from composite shims

Looks good. I needed an angle adapter and went with a ring pro compatible mount, it is close enough. This is the kit I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075WNZT8P The mount is about 1/4 too wide and 1/4 too short but it works well enough. I had to drill new holes for the camera...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I have a few, I like them. They hold their own against my low end 1080p hik or dahua which runs easily twice as much. They are pretty ineffective for real security, that I concede. But great for checking up on non critical stuff.

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Yeah, those are nice looking and pir is great to reduce false positives, but $50 is a lot more than $20, especially if you get more than a few. Make it four and your probably better of getting a budget hikvision dvr package.

New House, outdoor rough wiring for security cameras

Correct, coax and power. I only did one camera prewire per entrance. Would have been nice to have multiple viewpoints. Also cams up in the eaves.

Army Rips Out Chinese-Made Surveillance Cameras

Dunno, you could certainly leak a very low res stills in something like an update query to the mothership or a time sync. So many possibilities that look innocuous.

New House, outdoor rough wiring for security cameras

My builder and his wiring contractor wanted $300 for security prewires. Only $45 for network prewires. Guess which I got...lol. Only regret is not getting them everywhere.

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Long time lurker jumping in here... According to their facebook page, adding RTSP is on their short list of features to add. I have two of these cameras and they are really nice for the price. The design is really well thought out, it allows mounting the camera in many different places. This...
