    Thoughts on this hardware, please...

You'd have to make sure that that mobo/chipset was configured for internal graphics too. I have an old machine where the CPU handled QS but the MoBo/Chipset didn't.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

You need to have your phone reach through the internet and ISP router and touch your camera for TinyCam to work. You can do that via either port-forwarding (not recommended) or a VPN gateway running on your network.

Pull as web image as a camera?

My problem was that the image URL was going stale on me. I went to the web site that caused the image to be generated but then it went stale and stopped serving. I can't use that web site image for what I wanted to. Thanks.

How on earth could a US Fed or State govt enact legislation preventing me from taking an image of a public area and processing it with whatever the hell of processing I want?

Pull as web image as a camera?

Is there a way to set up a new 'camera' that is just a periodic snap of a publicly available web url png file? I tried variations in the camera setup but haven't found a combo that works. I only need extremely infrequent refreshes of the image. Thanks

    BI running on a new i9-7980XE (18 Cores, 36 Threads) = NICE!!!

My point was, in your example, how many 'cores/speed' would it take to 21 cameras without HA and result in 32%. I know it is not 100% actionable knowledge but interesting. Something like "a x core y Mhz machine with HA will outperform or equal a a core / b Mhz machine without HA"

computing power for video intensive tasks in particular. I've been curious to know how QS equates to raw cores. Both in terms of power and raw throughput ability.

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

For tides: I can run the following API and get the results as shown. Dates are collapsed for both readability and to hide identifying info. Next step is to figure out how to 1) get the query to execute on intervals and 2) parse the results for display on the overlay. I'd like to display the...

    BI running on a new i9-7980XE (18 Cores, 36 Threads) = NICE!!!

Are you using unnecessarily high FPS like 30 FPS rather than something like 15FPS which is almost imperceptibly different?

    BI running on a new i9-7980XE (18 Cores, 36 Threads) = NICE!!!

I can't seem to find the thread now but there is a tool documented on this forum somewhere that surveys many installations and shows the number of cameras, CPU and other stats. While 33 is a lot, I don't think it is unheard of. Anyone have the link to that statistics page?

    Zoom and export

BI is not a video editor. Never will be. Would it make you then happy if the author removed the feature to export clips from the main file?

For future options, I have peer of mine who had very good luck with Ubiquiti Wireless bridges for outdoor runs. Something like $USD70 / endpoint. Ubiquiti Networks - NanoStation® M
