Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Thanks for the reply. I do probably have one that's old enough to have had a vulnerable firmware, but all my cameras have been upgraded to newer firmware, so would have to track down an old version and hassle with tftp, etc. From what I've read, this "secure code" method is supposed to work on...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Hi all, Inherited an LTS 4-channel NVR, model # LTN8704-P4 SADP tells me it's running old/vulnerable firmware - V3.3.2build151208 For the life of me, I can't get the password reset tool to give me a code that works. I've read that for NVRs you're supposed to remove the model number from the...

Thanks bp2008 and fenderman. I guess that explains why I struck out on google! Appreciate the responses.

Looking for a reasonably-priced HD cam with good MJPEG resolution

I've tried numerous google searches but haven't been able to find a whole lot of info about this. In short, I want an h264 camera that can also deliver an MJPEG substream of at least 720p resolution. Right now I have a Foscam FI9831W (crappy camera, I know). It works fine and looks decent when...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thanks, after seeing dbaker's post I was considering doing the update, hoping I could use his method to remove the logo later. But it's quite possible that once I did the upgrade those options would disappear from ivms-4200 leaving me stuck with the logo (which on the floodlight cam actually...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Do you have the "Enable Text Overlay", "Display Camera Name" "Display Date" etc. checkboxes? My RCA Floodlight cam HSFLC1 has those (along with the "Upload Logo" button) but I am still on the shipping firmware. There is a fw update available that adds the logo and I've been avoiding installing...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Well that signal strength is a lot worse that mine, so I'd bet that is your issue. I'd say it's normal for it to be worse while you're trying to stream vs. not. If you can't relocate your AP (or wire in another one) then you may want to try a repeater. Or you could scrap the HSDB1 and try the...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Ubiquiti is good kit. I use two of their UniFi pro APs in my split level house (one in the basement, one on the second story) and my HSDB1 (RCA version) is rock solid. With the UniFi controller you should be able to see what it reports the signal strength of your doorbell is. Mine shows -55dBm...

    RCA / LaView (Hikvision) Floodlight Camera HSFLC1 / LV-PWFL182-U

No physical switch, and in fact I'm not even sure if you can switch them on manually even via the app. I'm not home to experiment right now, but the only light settings I see in the RCA app are a brightness adjustment and a toggle called "Light Linkage" (the description of which says "After...

    RCA / LaView (Hikvision) Floodlight Camera HSFLC1 / LV-PWFL182-U

Great! Yeah I've been hoping someone will try the LaView version as well--I'm really surprised that it still has zero reviews on Amazon whereas the RCA version (about the same price) has a bunch. Yes, and just to confirm there is no web interface on the RCA version. I've done a port scan and...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

What band is it on? Try forcing it on to whatever band it's not on now. 5GHz has more bandwidth but does not get through walls and other obstructions very well. 2.4GHz does better in that regard but often the 2.4GHz band is crowded and prone to interference. Whoops. Forgot this was the HSDB1...

    RCA / LaView (Hikvision) Floodlight Camera HSFLC1 / LV-PWFL182-U

Yes they have some cosmetic differences. But I am pretty sure they are the same unit--main clue being that on the FCC registration for the RCA (aka Voxx) the external photos show the Momentum version (I mentioned this in my first post). Though I would stay away from the Momentum version as it...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Sorry I missed this question earlier. Already replied via PM but just wanted to confirm for others that I do indeed have 2-way audio working on the HSDB1 via Blue Iris. I am on firmware 180726, which as far as I am concerned is the best firmware for this model. If audio spoken via BI is not...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Just a tangential comment, but I wonder if it could be possible (say on a rooted Android device maybe) to figure out where the app is storing the fw upgrade file and pull it out from there. It could then be flashed manually via ivms-4200. Seems like an avenue maybe worth checking out for someone...

Here's how my HSDB1 is set up. With this configuration you should get not only video but also 2-way audio http:// (cam's IP address) User admin Password (new p/w I set via browsing to IP address) Make Hikvision Model DS-2CDxxxx RTSP Media/video/RSTP port 554 Discovery/ONVIF port 8999 Video Path...

    RCA / LaView (Hikvision) Floodlight Camera HSFLC1 / LV-PWFL182-U

There are a couple of pretty thorough reviews on amazon if you're interested. I haven't actually installed mine yet. It's powered on but I'm waiting for the BI support folks to finish remoting into it to try to get 2-way audio working. So I can't comment yet on how the motion detection is...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Do you intend to mod the RCA faceplate to fit? Otherwise I don't think it's gonna work. Edit: The video I linked () shows the button for the RCA version attached to the faceplate. Granted it appears to be a rendering, but still. Maybe @Chadsturgill can confirm.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Good catch--I never even noticed the different-shaped camera opening. FWIW, the LaView also advertises a Sony Starlight sensor whereas the RCA and other variants don't. So I guess I'm not 100% positive if the LaView is identical under the hood or not. Obviously someone should buy the LaView...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I think it's the cheapest this doorbell has been, so if you were on the fence it's not a bad time to jump on it. And yes, LaView specifically announced ONVIF capability is coming (granted, they could always renege). Unlike the HSDB1, firmware for the HSDB2 devices seems much more locked down in...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Are you saying that your HSDB1 doorbell has an encryption setting? What firmware are you running on it? Mine is on 180726 and no matter what app I use I do not see any setting for encryption in the settings. I do for my HSFLC1 floodlight camera (same generation as the HSDB2), but not for my...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Boo, HSDB1 doesn't get the call log even with the Guarding Vision app. Just the normal motion detection thumbnails. Oh well. One interesting thing, when logging into the GV app I got a popup message telling me my account would be migrated from the old app to the new app. I'd previously been...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yeah I told chad that I think RCA is overcompensating since their edition of the DB1 had zero visible RCA branding on it--not even on the housing of the doorbell. The execs in charge probably were not too happy about that.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Gotcha--thanks for posting the shots of the different apps. I've stuck with the RCA one but may check out Guarding Vision. As an aside, have you tried changing the "Image Encryption" password? Since they state that it's the same as the device verification code I wonder if changing that password...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I'd say any app that gives you dBm is preferable to an icon. dBm is objective. The icon display is arbitrary. So in terms of that factor, the Hik app and Guarding Vision look like the winners. Edit: Now I see the ClaireVision app is showing a much different dBm value. Is it possible it's just...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I understand, but it's not at all surprising to me that port forwarding isn't helping--because the doorbell doesn't receive unsolicited incoming connections from the internet (i.e. it is designed to operate without port forwarding). I'm saying something in your router's configuration is blocking...
