This is from my 4mm DS-2CD332-I, when I replace it I will probably get a 6mm. My porch looks like it might be double the size of yours so I think 4mm should be enough for you. Before you permanently mount your camera, just hold it up in both locations to see what you prefer.

I have the Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS and it is very difficult to focus as the adjustment knobs are very sensitive. Just screwing the dome cover back on is enough to move them and give you a blurry picture.

You might have a failing hard drive. Run Seagate SeaTools or WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic to rule that out.

I recently upgraded to 4.5.3.6 x64 and now clips from my cameras marked as "Hidden" don't display in the clips browser on the right side. If I unhide the camera, its clips are displayed. Is this an expected behavior? If so, is there an option to display clips from hidden cameras in the browser?

The out of focus area is easier for me to spot on the images that aren't of the brick wall. The seller will probably make you pay return shipping (very expensive) if you want an exchange.

I was surprised you paid to send it back the first time. I think it is best that you just cut your losses at this point. Some of us just got unlucky and ended up with defective units; the IR on mine just went out.

The first 5MP Hikvision turret was a Chinese only model that had a low max fps. Seems like the 2352 is the real English version with higher fps that has been available from LTS for awhile. Regardless, I don't remember anyone saying they liked their 5MP.

EXIR is what Hikvision calls their IR technology on their turret cameras. From what I gather, Hikvision is trying to crack down on AliExpress sellers. Do you care if you get the Chinese version?

Have an electrical outlet installed in a closet and then run all network cables to there before you close in the walls. Once that is done you can take your time deciding on what hardware you will use.

That camera appears to be using firmware that is similar to the TOP-201 camera. Use the Top-201 factory reset tool. It worked on one of my generic cheap cameras.
