    Enable Event-Triggered Snapshot on DS-2CD2032-I

Everything seems to be in order, as my motion video saves correctly to the drive, just not snapshots. It’s on a 400gb partition and that seems to be working well for video. I thought perhaps the camera is only able to save one or the other, either video or snapshots, but not both?

    Enable Event-Triggered Snapshot on DS-2CD2032-I

I’m not sure if I’m missing some settings to get ”Event-Triggered Snapshot” working, as I have it enabled, but it never saves any images, even though motion detected video is saving ok, as are timed snapshots. Is it a case or one or the other with these cameras? Or should it be possible to...

    NFS No permission WS2012

Yes both cameras have a 400gb quota and seem to be running well, infact the camera also worked with the full 2TB drive without any quota set. I'm using SMB and not NFS, maybe this helps? Thanks for the help, I'd probably have given in by now and ordered an NVR, this was day 3 of tinkering...

    NFS No permission WS2012

All is up and running now and I’m not seeing any slowdown on the server at all, the CPU is running at <1% with both cameras working as the cameras are doing the CPU work and saving the files to SMB, the only slowdown might be on the network, but that would be the same using an NVR. It's one less...

    NFS No permission WS2012

Thank you, I seem to be getting somewhere now with SMB as opposed to NFS. By adding the slash in the path I’m now again getting “testing succeeded” and going back to the Storage Management tab I’m now able to click format again, now the progress is going up very slowly but it’s a 2TB drive so I...

    NFS No permission WS2012

I'm having trouble even getting back to the point I was yesterday when I gave up on the NFS after a few days messing. I want to try SMB instead now as I don't seem to be gettin anywhere with the NFS, do you know of anywhere on the Hikvision that I can change SMB workgroup name? I've looked all...

    NFS No permission WS2012

I played with quota settings and the message changes to "Testing succeeded." however at this point I'm unable to highlight the hdd in Storage Management as the checkbox is greyed out.

    NFS No permission WS2012

Have tried everything, I just can't seem to get them to work at all. Tried running the iVMS-4200 software on the server too but that just eats up the CPU. Anyone had any luck getting SMB or NFS to run on Windows server 2012? Looking more likely that I'll have to waste money on an NVR, which is...

    NFS No permission WS2012

I have a couple of DS-2CD2032-I (V5.2.5 build 141201) cameras and I’m trying to get them to write their files to my Windows Server 2012 box, I installed a 2TB Purple WD drive today and I’ve made a new folder for one of the cameras to test everything. I added the NFS details in Hikvision in the...

    Which NVR?

Thank you, my only concern is getting stung on import duty. Looking at some screenshots of Hikvision camera software, I think I may be able to get away with no NVR for the time being, it seems like the cameras themselves have more options available for taking screenshots at timed intervals and...

    Which NVR?

PayPal have ruled in my favour and have said I’m able to send the cameras back to the seller for a full refund, so that’s good news. Shame I went to all the trouble of mounting them though. Do you have any links to the Hikvision equipment for the prices mentioned above? I’m not really finding...

    Which NVR?

Thank you, I’ll look in to it but I’m in the UK so will need to find an equivalent here. I am still trying to sort out a return through PayPal but I don’t have much faith as I seem to have thrown away one of the boxes for the camera and the seller says I must return everything in saleable...

    Which NVR?

Which NVR? After struggling for weeks with these cameras ( http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3392-Unbranded-IP-cameras-help-please )because they don’t do what I had hoped, and upload images to FTP reliably, I think I need an NVR at this stage, because the cameras might as well be dummy...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

It's the same with either URL, and direct to disc is selected too. Even the time overlay from the camera is noticeably not as sharp and not as white as it is in IE. If you look at the text its sharper in the first image which is IE, the 2nd image is which has some blur to it, is Blue Iris...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

The URL I’m using is this one: rtsp://192.168.1.101:554/user=me_password=mycam123_channel=1_stream=0.sdp?real_stream It’s not the recorded video that I’m seeing a difference on, I haven’t checked that, but rather it’s when I view the cameras live, in IE it’s a sharper image in the distance, I...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

Thanks for the replies, I'm experimenting with Blue Iris now, but I find the video quality is not as sharp as viewing the camera directly in IE, I don’t want to compromise on image quality if I can help it. I have Blue Iris set to the RTSP stream, is that the best way of doing things for maximum...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

Thanks for the response, I'll have a good look through the pdf when I get home. My server is Windows Server 2012 I've tried various bits of 3rd party software but the footage is always covered in artifacts and running like a slide show, but when I view the footage on IE it's smooth and...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

Hi, I recently purchased 2x 1080p IP cameras and installed them ok outside, and can view them live via IE, but I never set them up to record, as all the instructions are in Chinese, I figured I’d try to do that another time. I’m trying to get this sorted out today but am having all sorts of...
