How do I Zoom to a part of a camera's field of view?

I was sure that I used to be able to digital zoom in on a full screen camera view with the mouse wheel and then drag around the zoomed in view holding the left mouse button too. I'm on version 5.2.5.10 and can't drag the zoomed view any longer. When I'm not on a full screen camera view, using...

    Blue Iris 5 settings

I wouldn't say there have been significant changes to settings in version 5 cf. version 4 but there are new features and enhancements that will never be added to older versions. And of course the new features and enhancements along with potential incompatibility issues arising from future...

    Wyze and BI

Yes, I experienced this with a Wyze V2 I got to check out, so bad that my solution is to put it on the shelf and forget about it. A case of you get what you paid for... not much.

    DBCompact warning 1/0/0/0

I know this is an old thread but am wondering if there was a resolution to this issue. I have been getting a "DBCompact could not obtain exclusive DB access" warning at 2:00 AM for the last three nights. I'm on version 5.0.6.8 for several weeks and have made no recent changes.

Dealing with fog and motion events at night

Like other commenters I haven't found any Blue Iris settings that really solve this problem but I have had some success by choosing the camera mounting location. I have one camera on the front of the house pointing straight out and it is always triggering when there is fog, mist or light rain...

    Live Feed Frozen.

The pause button is in the exact same screen position as the close clip (X) button. If one is playing a clip and inadvertently clicks twice on the close clip "X" button the second click hits the pause button. The clue is that the pause button turns red when live view is paused.

App stopped connecting after Blue Iris Server Change.

Yes, only client side actions... deleting the existing servers and creating new ones, not just editing the LAN/WAN addresses in the existing servers to point to the new servers. I take it that didn't resolve the problem so no joy.

    Problem After BI Disk Upgrade

I know, that was my point... the "Store alert images as hi-res files" is not on the Record tab any longer. It is now on the Trigger tab but the Help file still refers to it as being on the Record tab.

App stopped connecting after Blue Iris Server Change.

Did you just update the LAN and WAN addresses in the app or did you set up the new server from scratch? I've run into what sounds like the same issue with the Android app and if I recall correctly setting the server up again from scratch resolved the issue.

    Problem After BI Disk Upgrade

In Blue Iris version 4 you would turn off hi-res alert images by unchecking the "Store alerts as hi-res files" option on each camera's Camera Settings / Record tab. Interestingly, the Blue Iris version 5 help file gives the same instruction but that option does not appear on the Camera Settings...

    Newbie : BI Questions

I have the mobile app (Android in my case) but I have not used the mobile app since the UI3 Web Browser was released then subsequently integrated into the Blue Iris software package. I don't see the mobile app as being necessary unless for some reason using the web browser is not an option.

Need help. Tried everything I know and still missing something small

My thinking was that if you have the cameras recording continuously and do not have a combine or cut parameter set then the video files would just continue to grow in size and may be the cause of the disk over allocation shown in the attachment to the first post. Normally for continuous...

Need help. Tried everything I know and still missing something small

Another consideration may be how many cameras you have, do they record continuously, and what are the combine or cut parameters on each camera's Properties "Record" tab?

    Yellow border around some cameras.

No, I don't see any flashing on/off of the yellow border. When the camera has motion detection off (unchecked) the yellow border is displayed continuously. When motion detection is on (checked) then no border color is displayed except when there is a motion trigger and a red boarder is displayed...

    Yellow border around some cameras.

On my Blue Iris system the yellow borders are shown on cameras where motion detection is turned off and the camera is not set to record continuously. This is set in Options / Cameras / Yellow when motion detection is paused or disabled. I have motion detection disabled on an interior camera when...

How come my zone crossing doesn't trigger when a vehicle crosses?

I agree with your understanding that you don't want zones overlapping. But, for the issue with large objects crossing the zone do you mean crossing within the wide zone covering the street? I don't think that zone crossing triggers by an object crossing within a zone, rather the object has to...

Cam disappeared from overview but still recording

Did you maybe by accident open that camera in a Desktop Frame? If you minimize the Blue iris Console does the missing camera show up in a frame on the screen. If so, right click on the camera frame and deselect the Open in desktop frame option. Otherwise, I don't know how you would make it...

Zone Crossing - Not working - What have I missed ?

Not only should the zones not be overlapped, they should not touch one another either. There should be a gap between zones. This is discussed beginning at 3:15 of the Zone Crossing video in message #3 of this thread.

    Pre-trigger video buffer stopped working

It looks like something has changed between Blue Iris server versions 4.7.6.13 and 4.7.6.17. I was on '13 and buffer was fine so I just now updated to '17 and now alert video starts at the point of first motion... no pre-trigger buffer. I have emailed support on this issue.

Can anyone see why my clips are not moving please?

In your Clips and archiving configuration you are moving files in the New folder to the Stored folder and then moving files in the Stored folder to the Stored folder. I don't know how Blue Iris handles this looping (moving Stored to Stored) but that should be corrected in any case. Did you want...

Move older recordings to USB HDD

Yes, when the New folder size limit is reached then clip files will be moved to the Stored folder. The Alerts folder is where high resolution alert images are stored if the "Store alerts as hi-res files" option is checked on the Camera / Record tab(s).

Move older recordings to USB HDD

I do that and it works without any issues. I store 100 GB of "New" clips on my primary drive and the oldest clips are moved to "Stored" on a 4 TB USB 3.0 drive connected to the PC.

    Alert folder issue

My understanding is that the only thing that goes to the Alerts folder is the hi-res images generated if that option is selected on the Camera Properties Record tab. Separate Alert videos are not created, rather they are stored in the database as index flags to the Clip video files.

Help me understand storage / space issue

Back in post #16 of this thread the attached images indicate that the New folder size is set to 100GB and the Stored folder size is set to 3000GB but the Windows folder properties for the New folder report 195GB and the folder properties for the Stored folder report 5.10TB. Blue Iris can be configured to turn IR on and off. In Camera Properties on the Schedule tab select the Event Schedule button at the bottom right. There you can set up events such as IR ON/OFF for selected profiles, times of day and relative to sunrise/sunset.
