BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

You think I don’t understand the difference betweeen wide area networks and local area network of network address translation. You guys have me all wrong, but go on with your selves, it really doesn’t affect me. Read this thread back in a year and reflect, that’s all I will say. Love, Adam

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

Routers are not static unless the client specifically pays for a static iP, which is rare and unnecessary now a days, and why would I set any device static when I could just reserve it? That way when the router fails, which it will as every device does, regardless of what federman thinks… at...

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

Also, no skill set to install a basic router. We manage over 250 clients on OVRC, and 150 on unifi. We set up all of our routers properly with VLANS, and reserve every device on network as we don’t like static IP setups. You clearly have me all wrong, and I have always resolved my clients...

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

Dude, I have no time for your antics. Read back through this thread a guy asked for a reason why not to use BI, and I expressed my opinion. I could care less what my old Google review ratings, which span from my last of being a car audio shop, now a days as I do almost 1m a year, in custom...

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

Who said I haven't resolved my client's issues? Why are you so angry? I don't think you understand me or my background, so I will save you the embarrassment.

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

I fired up my first unit in 2012, I have well over 100 in the field, most are still working, many have been upgraded though. I still think embedded has been more reliable overall, but agree the BI is a far better software. All of my implementations now use both.

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

Failing Hardrives, Corrupted Bios, Dead Cmos Batteries, Bad Fans, I've seen it all. I fail to see how these are my fault. Embedded devices also have these issues, but I find them more reliable. I have been doing this a long time, I shut off updates, disable all bloatware, run as a service...

BlueIris is amazing! Why bother with NVR today?

The reason for an embedded DVR or NVR is simple... reliability. I actually use both with my installs and have end users use the Blue Iris app, but I have been embarrassed too many times when clients call me for footage and I find out the pc was hung up.

    How does remote access work?

Blue Iris doesn't host any offsite servers, the $60 is a one time software or support fee. The remote viewing procedure is exactly like 99% of the products out there, it requires an open port to the server and the clients knowledge of the server ip (ddns). The software does now include a...

Do I need Blue Iris for these scenarios?

It has a free trail, why are you asking everyone if it is better than your "homebaked" solution. No offense, but the guy who created and maintains blue Iris, has gotten up everyday for the past ? Years, and worked on making a solution that works well for this, it's not perfect, but it is likely...

    Http push

What you want to do is set up profiles or schedules and just trigger the change of that, which can be done via one http request. Furthermore, blue Iris has this functionality already built in by gps locating in the app. Check the hep files for more info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    BI Support Plans

When he says "major" updates, I believe he is referring to primary versions, i.e. Version 5 will be next. From history I believe he has done this every two years or so. He has always (to my knowledge) charged for version upgrades (like Windows ... Except for 10). I don't see how anyone could...

Fresh win 10 install and BI, but dll is missing?

Please Back up your program before making any changes, I had mine backed up, which I needed, as I tried uninstall-reinstall. In the end I think I just needed the vcredist_x64.exe from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 Good luck.

Fresh win 10 install and BI, but dll is missing?

From the newest help files, as I myself am sorting my way through it this morning as well. I think it is because he literally just launched this update which contains hardware accelleration that we have all been anxiously awaiting. Blue Iris 4.0 Installation Notes...
