Turning the res of my 1440p cam down to 1080p helped a ton with the audio. It's still a little distorted though, higher pitched as well. cam is a Dahua IPC-HDBW4431R-AS.

SOLUTION: select the Dahua model Fenderman recommended (thanks!) and then make sure your logged in user on the mobile app has "PTZ/Control" enabled.

I'm having a weird problem. I just bought a Dahua 4433 (4431) and everything works... except push to talk in blue iris Dahua 4431R-AS - BlueIris Doesn't use cam speaker :( What makes me think it's a Blue iris problem is that I can change the "hail" file and it will play the tone perfectly...

We're getting there! The Mobile app is definitely doing something, it'll play the "hail" sound in the audio settings but the microphone in the mobile app isn't working. I wonder if it's a bug in the BlueIris app

Go into device management, click on Group, make a new group and put your camera in it that worked for me
