Thanks, yup, you're right, I spent the evening searching and found a deal, 8 port PoE switch for £35 ($47) + tax. It's on it's way to me. It will also save me a lot of install time as I don't need to run power cables to the cameras.

Thanks, so after much more clicking about, it seems that BI shows that the recording is continuing on the timeline, but there is no recording, just a greyed out still shows. Looks like the timeline function can do with a bit of improvement there. I've mostly got to grips with BI now.
