Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

Impressive & appreciated that you share your work. My quandary is that my WU broke so long ago I have just gotten use to it no longer around. If this script was around when it first broke, I would have been all over this.

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

I still follow this thread, 1.60 never worked right for me, I just follow this thread, see if a newer versions ever comes up. I know the guy does this free & so I do miss it but accept for whatever reasons that version just has some compatibility issues with some PC's. I suspect there is still...

Looking for the "perfect" IP PoE camera for maximum coverage with limited height considerations

I think "Dumpster cam" will have some issues (too many snoopers). I came to a compromise & aided with a neat idea from my brother. We collect the magnets off of failing hard drives (the old spinning types, the magnets are impressively strong). Screwed them onto a piece of 2x4 & bolted the...

Looking for the "perfect" IP PoE camera for maximum coverage with limited height considerations

Yeah, redeploy the bullet camera to the garage & then add a dome/turret up in the top of the other garage overhang (pink zone).

Looking for the "perfect" IP PoE camera for maximum coverage with limited height considerations

We've had many issues here with "roaming types", multiple vehicle break-in's, had vagrants bat it down for no reason as they pass by. The front cameras I managed to protect & have good view. I think relocation is the only solution, back against the first (primary) garage behind the gate post &...

Looking for the "perfect" IP PoE camera for maximum coverage with limited height considerations

It was a 2.8 mm lens, I didn't mention vendor as resolution (& apparently lens) I thought would be sufficient (& not to dish the vendor as I made the assumption, my ignorance is more of a factor). Yes, that is the debatable aspect, will they tamper with them? In the front they did & I got a...

Looking for the "perfect" IP PoE camera for maximum coverage with limited height considerations

I've tried dome & bullet style (currently using a bullet with 3840 x 2160 resolution) & I cannot seem to find a camera that when mounted 9 1/2 ' high to effectively cover a 30 ' x 30 ' space with an immediate 90 degree down angle (to cover gate) & extend to cover two vehicles parked in the back...

    Blue Iris UI3

Yes, applied manually, works much better (as it should / did). Very quick response, I presume the fix took longer! Thanks.

let's not forget there is account lock out settings as well for any brute force attacks. Also I think most have a base user (non admin) for remote viewing / monitoring ...

Oh please .... :) VPN is only as good as the unit running the agent. Also if you travel in places like China & IRAN, VPN is useless, you're better off using SSL.

    Blue Iris UI3

Oh yes I typically stream playbacks @ 4x, simple reason if I am just reviewing the night before & taking a look. I find 8x or higher you can miss critical nuances to what actually triggered the camera.

    Blue Iris UI3

Yes I had passed on a few builds & thought maybe time to do an update. I don't like getting too far back in builds, sometimes that has cause for concern & the odd time there is a security issue that may have come up, so all of us, as you & your build tend to try & stay reasonably up to date...

    Blue Iris UI3

Right, this is 5.3.2.7 & UI3 build 118 though, like I said this issue is new. I "could have bandwidth issues" however when I look at "new issues" in any tech I support, I usually go to "what changed? " as the starting point to trouble shoot. All else seems stable enough, just the streaming >...

    Blue Iris UI3

I had missed a couple build, just went up to it & I have noticed if I exceed playback > 2x of recorded video I get video stream warnings now. never before. I think 6x option for playback is new, it was just 2x,4x,8x etc. ? Well it all works fine with that exception, curious if anyone else...

Excruciating slow playback of exported MP4 file

I've never had to change the default "export 0" set up, what I export has always been fine & played back fine. Even now, 3/4 still export & play just fine. I have a new H265 camera I run 2592 x 1944 15fps. I basically export 0 50 % default setting with hardware acceleration (Nvidia) enabled. 30...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

Disappointing, we're getting the first big whammy of a storm this winter, would be nice to have it available. Odd I can get to it via browser, just not via API.

    Backup not exporting

Ah ok, fair enough, I had a couple forms of back ups when I did the transplant, I thought it was me, I even excluded the folders off AV thinking it had something to do with that.

    Backup not exporting

I just did a hardware transplant of my old PC to new, kept drive letters same & swapped over "WD Purple drive" from old system which holds all long term videos + BI Tools etc. I noticed since 1.5, the manual export backup function does not appear to work (no reg files in the directories). I...

Rintime error 7 "out of memory"

Fixed ... yeah a simple copy of new files wouldn't do, had to uninstall, do the FULL reinstall (I assume to register DLL / OCX files), I had enough brains to copy the settings INI file out, copy back in, so I managed to keep all that intact. Painless fix really, was trying to avoid the simple &...

Rintime error 7 "out of memory"

I'll look into it some more. I took the old packages out as they are no longer supported / updated & will not get updates (i.e. security) hence the removal. thks for the quick response & help.

Rintime error 7 "out of memory"

hmm, installed both x86 & 64, same error, very odd, I must have really broke something here. I was removing old C++ RD pkgs from 2005 - 2015, I have so many versions, tried to just keep the 2015's & now with 2013 & 2015 both x86 & 64, no go, even with reboot & the error files you suggested I...

Yes, did that ,same error. I was removing some old Visual C++ redistrubutions, I guess it broke something here.

Rintime error 7 "out of memory"

So what Visual C++ is required for this app? It will not start it seems there is a dependency that may be corrupt or missing.

    Edge Dev & UI3

Well first public availability of the new Edge browser on the Chromium platform. I recall bp2008 had reservations about this browser getting involved in the Chromium dev ops. Seems decent enough & if it's any leaner that the bloated Chrome package, maybe a good thing. Microsoft Edge Insider

    PTZ newbie, silly question

That's pretty interesting. I noticed it traced / tracked down to an almost 90' down angle for an inbound truck but the trigger motion sensor only seem to capture the movement around the 45' mark when backing out, not sure if that was a fine tuning or just how the sensor is triggered (I suspect a...

    PTZ newbie, silly question

Please do, I am interested to see a variety. It's my back of garage where I get a lot of foot traffic & we've had several attempts to break in to trucks and two disparate garages. So I am curious for the zoom & focus / move features.

    PTZ newbie, silly question

Thanks I'll take a look at those. I know AI is a very much work in progress solution. I was more trying to ascertain what basic features I should expect. The problem I have is not having a viewing lens wide enough or of "up & down" viewing scale so moving to motion (trigger) makes sense for...

    PTZ newbie, silly question

So I have a few PoE cameras, found out more about issues I didn't want to need to know & for the most I am happy with the basics of BI for home surveillance / monitoring. Just 720 or 1080 PoE's. I assume the whole idea is for the mounted PTZ device to be able to range around, look closer...
