Two questions: a) is it worth upgrading to this doorbell from VTO2000A? (I have it flushmount) I have the VT20000A running a SIP fw. What are the differences between the two units? b) is there a software VTH option to actually repace the VTH unit? (not cloud based gdmss)

I can confirm number 2. Same for me, although in my case it is SIP calls and iDMSS, but does not happen all the time.

For question 1. If you have V4, then yes, you can. Local Settings --> Video & Audio. There is a group entitled: Audio Control. The setting that controls the sounds is: Voice Prompt Sound. Select Disabled.

gDMSS works as well. Problems that I am seeing: even if one person picks up an extension, gDMSS/iDMSS may continue ringing (not all the time, from time to time). And vice-versa. Which may create some problems if 2 people pick up the call, I guess ...

iDMSS works like a charm with this version of the firmware. Let's see gDMSS.

Haha, the ipads-in-the-house have SIP softphones installed (zoiper) as well as iDMSS. SIP softphones work just fine with the VTO. Today I will see if iDMSS and gDMSS continue to work with this firmware.

@riogrande75 how do you plan on getting those traces? I have full control over the Trixbox/Freepbx/asterisk system. Not so much of the VTO, nor do I know how.

@catcamstar I was able to register the VTO with my Trixbox server. I was able to make the VTO ring all the SIP phones that I have in the house, whether real or S/W, by using a ring group. Only problem is that ringing over SIP does not come with live images from the doorbell. @riogrande75 was...
