    DMSS Relay Output Control

I think I know the answer to this but is there a way to control the relay output from a camera on the DMSS app? This can be done from the web GUI for the camera by pressing the little orange icon: However I don't think there's any way to trigger this on the DMSS app. Anyone found a way to...

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

No you're not going mad but it appears Dahua are unaware of the problem. I've reported it to the technical team at my suppliers and they claim to not have heard about this issue before. I'm taking delivery of another 5208 unit this week so will test and see if the same thing happens. I agree...

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

Same issue here and I fit a lot of these NVRs. Current one is the NVR5208-8P-4KS2 and after reboot many camera names default to Channel 1,2,3 etc. No pattern as some keep their names and others don't. Very annoying bug which Dahua need to fix.

Did anyone find a valid RSTP stream for the multi screen views from NVR? I've tried every combination but no luck at all.

Restoring Dahua NVR from Config Backup

Just wondering if anyone has restored the configuration on a Dahua NVR from a backup on a USB? I’m replacing a like for like NVR. Same exact model. The previous one was damaged beyond repair but I have a copy of the configuration. Will this restore all settings from the previous unit onto the...

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

Yes I found all browsers blocked the port. I don't think the port assignment is 10080 first as I installed 16 cameras and it was only on the last one that it assigned port 10080.

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

OK thanks to the steer from @bigredfish above I got to the bottom of the problem. Resetting didn't help as the camera was still not accessible on any browser with the same message. After following the link it turns out the browser was blocking the port but every browser was blocking the port...

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

I’ve tried every browser I can. Chrome, Edge, Firefox. All the same. It must be related to how the camera was added by the NVR as all others are fine on every other port. It probably didn’t help swapping ports around. I did that as I needed ePoE for this camera as the run was more than...

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

OK I checked the password and all well on that front. Just for additional info when I try to load the web GUI for that camera from the registration page I get the following displayed: This site can’t be reached The web page at http://192.168.88.9:10080/ might be temporarily down or it may...

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

Yes green dot next to camera. You are correct that I had another cam plugged into Port 4 and swapped that to another port. Password issue is possible but then wouldn’t it show a red dot as it wouldn’t be able to connect? I’ll check the password anyway and see what happens when I enter it...

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

On the Registration Page it’s showing Port 4. The other cameras show the Port representing the port they’re plugged into As well.

No Access to one CAM Web GUI behind NVR

Hi All, I know this scenario has cropped up many times but this situation is a little odd and hope someone knows what's happened here. I have a 5432-16P NVR and have 20 cameras connected to the NVR with 16 via the PoE ports on the NVR. All of the cameras have installed fine and are all...

    Dahua NVR Push Notifications

Just for info for anyone else I was always confused as to why I got the "Failed to Subscribe" message when I wasn't signed in as admin. I always thought it best not to have the app signed into the main admin account for security - yes I know all the risks with port forwarding and P2P which I...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

That depends on the NVR and Camera. It’s not that easy to understand but some NVRs have AI capability (those models with an I in their model number). That means they can carry out the analysis rather than the camera and generate events. However if you also have AI cameras then you can choose...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Thanks for all the great tips and advice in this thread. I’m installing a 17 camera system on a PoE NVR. The NVR has 16 PoE ports for cam connection. I have two cameras on a 60m run with a single CAT6 to the location. I’m hoping to run two cameras off one PoE port on the NVR via a small...

    Dahua NVR API Keyboard Control

Hi, I'm looking to control Dahua NVRs with http API requests. I have successfully been able to switch cameras and split screens but I have been unable to carry out navigation like up, down, right left, enter etc. The reason for needing this is for a centralised system with the NVR connected...

    Dahua Wizsense NVR

Hi Andrew, Yes I'm sure. The NVR is not supporting IVS on the 5th channel, your camera is so if you don't have an IVS camera then it won't work. The 5th channel example was only that. It depends on the spec of your NVR. Some have limited AI processing and some don't have any at all. The...

    Dahua Wizsense NVR

I've now received some further clarification on how the new Wizsense NVRs work in respect to IVS. As I mentioned above the range of NVRs have different channel number support for IVS functions and I wasn't 100% sure why. It turns out the lower series units only support limited IVS rules by...

    Dahua Wizsense NVR

Hi Andrew, I don't have specific answers to your questions but have related questions! Looking at the Dahua website for the NVRs you list provides some clarity on the difference between the NVR models. With a Wizsense NVR the differences appear to be with the number of channels supporting IVS...

Unable to Access Video Backed up to USB External Drive

OK many thanks for that advice. I'll try that. I assume it must be formatted in FAT32 for the NVR to recognise it? I don't think the Dahua NVRs recognise any other format, is that correct?

Unable to Access Video Backed up to USB External Drive

It was originally formatted when connected to the NVR yes. As mentioned it shows fine within the NVR and I can backup to it but it will not playback any of the backups yesterday or most of the prior backups even though they are showing when browsing the hard drive through the NVR. Already done...

Unable to Access Video Backed up to USB External Drive

OK tried in another PC with same result, it doesn't show up as a drive. I connected it back up to the DVR and it recognises the drive and allows me to backup files to it without problem. I can also see the files backed up yesterday but can't play them back as they don't list on the playback...

Unable to Access Video Backed up to USB External Drive

I’ll try that today but this was in a brand new PC so I couldn’t understand it not being recognised. I usually use Macs and know the drive won’t be recognised in that. I’ll update later when I’ve tried it on another older PC. In the meantime I’ve backed up using SmartPSS.

Unable to Access Video Backed up to USB External Drive

Hi All, I really need some help with this as have tried everything. I used an external USB drive to backup a few days of video from a Dahua NVR. The backups were selected in MP4 format and seemed to backup fine. I then tried to access these backups by plugging the USB drive into a Windows PC...

Yes that's the only way I've found to do it. Thanks for confirming what I thought. :)

    Active Deterrent Audio Linkage Period

Yes that's correct but not what I was trying to describe. I'm talking about the period option below Warning Light linkage. If you select BOTH audio and light then the period setting only applies to the light and doesn't affect the audio. I was trying to have a single IVS rule for intrusion...

    Active Deterrent Audio Linkage Period

It appears either nobody uses this or doesn't know the answer. The only way I've found to delink audio for specific periods is to setup two, or more, IVS rules with different periods set for activation on each and link audio and/or light to the ones you want. Seems to defeat the purpose of...
