Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

So by "initialized" you mean set up? They are, been using these cameras for years through other apps, just can't get any iOS app to work with them.

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

I don't have an NVR, connecting to the cameras directly. Fixed IP addresses. No idea what "initialized ip cams" means. I can view and control the cameras in Tiny Cams Pro on Android.

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

And I should say, the user/pass is good. And is the same as on every other camera in the network.

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

It works perfectly from Tiny Cams Pro (android) and Easyptz (windows). The credentials and address are good. And yes adding with an IP (a lan ip, and yes I'm inside the lan).

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

I just installed it. Are you sure it works with Dahua cameras? It seems to only work with cameras made by Lmou Life. If it works with other cameras, what device model do you choose while setting up the camera?

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

I found DMSS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dmss/id1493268178 And it almost works. Well even. I got one camera entered, all set. But when I go to enter the next camera, which has the same settings but a different ip#, it says "login timeout" and then won't save the camera info. I don't...

Is iDMSS still the best ptz viewer for iOS? If so, how to add cameras?

I miss Live Cams Pro for iOS! If anyone knows of a good replacement, let me know. I'm trying to set up a friend's iPad to be able to control a Dahua PTZ camera and using iDMSS and wow is this program terrible. But I know it works, I was able to successfully install a camera on it once, but I...

Some way to keep the web interface on a D49225T-HN from logging out?

Good idea, could simulate a mouse event. Would be nice if it had the option to just disable Timeout, as some Dahua cameras do. I'm wondering if it does but it's just not accessible in the GUI. Or maybe I'm just not finding it yet.

Some way to keep the web interface on a D49225T-HN from logging out?

I see that on some Dahua cameras it's possible to extend the login time of the web interface by going to Main Menu-Setting-System-General-General---set Auto Logout to 0. But apparently that doesn't work on the D49225T-HN, there's no option for "auto logout". I don't imagine anyone has a clever...

iPhone PTZ apps are such a mess. Or does anyone have a recommendation? Also looking for Mac

Just looking for a straight viewer that can do ptz.

I'm not. Or I guess the internal sd card is. It's just for live view.

iPhone PTZ apps are such a mess. Or does anyone have a recommendation? Also looking for Mac

I'm setting up a camera at a friend's place, and she has an iPhone and Macbook. I'm striking out on finding her decent apps for both. For iOS I used to use Live Cams Pro, but alas RIP. So I tried IPCams, which sort of works but it wants to charge $30/year for PTZ controls! I also tried iDMSS...

Someone on eBay has a bunch of Dahua SD49225T-HN cameras

Here's a sample of the zoom: The people in the distance are about a mile and a half away. Pretty amazing to me. It's been rock solid without any reboots since I installed it about a month ago and is still kicking after some really hard rain.

Recommendation for a webcam that can rotate between a few positions?

I haven't. I've been meaning to start looking again. Let me know if you find anything.

Someone on eBay has a bunch of Dahua SD49225T-HN cameras

A big jump over new too, those were $350 new shipped. I'm hoping to get way more than that out of them. Time will tell of course. I'm hoping the fact that they weren't using PTZ in their previous life will help. Would be interesting to see some comparison videos between the SD49225T-HN and...

Are you saying there's an camera that's leaps ahead in imaging quality from this? I sure haven't found it if so.

Someone on eBay has a bunch of Dahua SD49225T-HN cameras

I just read almost all of that thread, and seems like most people posting there had the issue after only a year. Odd issue, may I never encounter it. So far so good on both the cameras I just bought, neither has rebooted for a week. And fortunately I've never had the issue with any other...

Any interest in Python bindings for Dahua camera control?

I had to control a Dahua SD49225T-HN from Python so I made a Python library to make it easier. I used it in a little program I made to control the cameras called EasyPTZ: https://gizmoware.net/easyptz Anyway let me know if anyone has a use for it and I'll clean it up and post to my github.

Someone on eBay has a bunch of Dahua SD49225T-HN cameras

Nope. For me no biggie, but good point. Is the sequel the PTZ6C2M-45X? I know that has autotracking, as well as 45x zoom. I'd love to try that one, especially because zoom is super important for my use case (I use these to look out over the ocean), but I'm not $730 worth of curious. My oldest...

Someone on eBay has a bunch of Dahua SD49225T-HN cameras

I think he said he has 30 of them, used: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166557837942 I just got two, and they're in pristine condition inside and out. Came to $380 for two, shipped. ($135 each plus $52 shipping for each). According to the "life statistics" in the camera's admin panel they both have...

Is there a sequel to the SD49225T-HN that's significantly better?

Interesting. Are there any tests posted comparing the 25x zoom to the 45x zoom?

Is there a sequel to the SD49225T-HN that's significantly better?

I love the zoom, picture quality and night vision of the SD49225T-HN, but I'm wondering if any of the successors have better quality? Especially interested in clearer and stronger optical zoom.

Recommendation for a webcam that can rotate between a few positions?

That's why we're getting something new. Water got inside of the current one. It had a good run, but obviously it's time for something new. Budget is $500 or less probably.

Recommendation for a webcam that can rotate between a few positions?

I'm a big fan of Dahua PTZ cameras, been using them for years. I'm helping a friend upgrade his camera at his campground. Currently he has a Nest camera but it got water inside it after a few years. Can see it currently here: sinkingsensation.com/cam It's quite a view. I was thinking it would...

Looking for a couple of bubble cameras for hallways

I don't get why people think they'd be any less reliable than wired since both store their data primarily interally. I suppose for alerts they'd potentially be less reliable, but for watching the footage through the camera's interface they'd be the same. And furthermore I use a Nest Camera for...

Looking for a couple of bubble cameras for hallways

Thanks for that. Does Does Dahu not offer any wifi cameras in this class? I was hoping for a wifi camera that also has local storage as backup. I've had fantastic luck with Nest cameras, which use wifi. But the service is prohibitively expensive especially in a multi camera setup.

Looking for a couple of bubble cameras for hallways

We have a possible security issue in our building and I'm looking for a recommendation for bubble ptz cameras. - ideally would connect via WiFi but could run cables - good in low light - ideally can save it's motion events to a nas - decent interface. I've been using old Dahua PTZ cameras...

How to access camera Dahua archives now that IE is dead?

I found a way to view Dahua cameras in Chrome, using the IETab extension. Costs $20 after a 2 week trial though, ugh. Seems to work well though. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ie-tab/hehijbfgiekmjfkfjpbkbammjbdenadd/related

How to access camera Dahua archives now that IE is dead?

Axis is updating their older cameras to support modern browsers, with no change in hardware. There's no additional memory required to make the webserver in the camera serve a different webpage. I suspect it's just a non priority by Dahua, bizarrely.

How to access camera Dahua archives now that IE is dead?

And interestingly it looks like Axis has updates for many of their older cameras to enable modern browsers. So it's not only their new cameras that can do it.
