IP Camera made to look like monitor/TV top webcam?

I like the idea though, maybe for another application. What was the budget for the whole thing? Minus the case and power supply? Wow that's the type of comparison that really fits my situation! A box camera is indeed going to look okay if it's black. I was actually planning to put it next to...

IP Camera made to look like monitor/TV top webcam?

I am considering that camera format as the Raspberry Pi + ribbon camera is a bit too much effort and it would look messy behind the TV (It's on a swivel wall mount so we sometimes get to expose the back). However, considering the size of the room, I'd probably go for a cheap generic 720p camera...

IP Camera made to look like monitor/TV top webcam?

It's not to go unnoticed, it's to mix in with the decor. A slim webcam on top of an HDTV looks natural compared to a security camera screwed to a wall with a cable running to it. I'd have went for one of those flat webcam looking IP cameras if it wasn't for the fact that my TV is wall mounted...

IP Camera made to look like monitor/TV top webcam?

I want to put a camera in the livingroom, but your typical dome/bullet camera would look horrible. An idea I had was to put a camera on top of my TV, but the camera would have to look like one of those webcams you put on top of a computer monitor. I know Logitech makes a webcam that can...

    4.1.1.3 Update failed

Did that too. Ok I fixed it. I tried to delete blueiris.exe after I turned off Blue Iris and it said it was being used, yet the BI Windows service was stopped as well. So I started the service, stopped it again, and now I was able to update. Weird stuff.

    4.1.1.3 Update failed

The latest update failed to install. Even after rebooting the computer, it won't update. Here are the messages as I get as I try to install the update, in chronological order.

    IR button hijacked my cameras

It's funny this thread gets bumped, I found out this "issue" a few days ago. If I press the bulb, it will switch the night/day mode on/off. The IR lights will only turn on if they are set to turn on in night mode. So the button won't turn on the IR if you set your night mode to NOT turn on the...

Cloning camera - How much resource is wasted?

I have a camera facing my frontyard. There is a street and then there is my driveway + entrance. I cloned the camera in BI so that it will detect and record differently the motions/alerts of cars/people passing in the street vs. cars/people coming to my house. Now, my server is pretty...

    Always on windows device

Did you actually run up the numbers without using the maximum rated power consumption of a laptop's power supply? Be aware that Blue Iris has to do a lot of analysis, not just codec stream decoding.

    Does Mask Brush/Rectable supersede Hotspot?

That's actually my situation. I want a specific path to be a hot spot, but it doesn't fit in a rectangle without adding other regions that are full of false positives. So I was thinking of masking part of the hot spot rectangle.

    Does Mask Brush/Rectable supersede Hotspot?

If a mask overlaps a hot spot, which one takes over?

Logitech Alert 700/700N setup in Blue Iris

Yes, they use RTSP streams like most other IP cameras. Here is the URL for the RTSP stream rtsp://IPADDRESS:554/HighResolutionVideo You can do the 14 day trial of Blue Iris so you can be sure it works before buying it.

galaxy s4 with ip cam view lite

Really? That's... oh well, too late, I purchased the BI app. You are right that it is better, however way I layed out my cameras for live viewing in BI gets presented the same way on my phone and I can turn off the alerts if someone comes home early (Non scheduled turn off period)

galaxy s4 with ip cam view lite

IP Cam View Lite connects directly to the cameras, it doesn't connect to BI.

    Modify Channels as Separate Streams

I looked up the system he mentionned. It is a USB dongle that has an antenna to capture 2.4GHZ ANALOG cameras (up to 4). The cameras themselves cannot be used as IP cameras. The dongle allows to view each camera individually with a 640x480 resolution, or see all 4 in the same 640x480 window...

Feature suggestion - Animated recording thumbnails

Thanks for replying, this community is great  That's actually how it was done with Contacam. Each event recording generated a gif that goes with the clip. I had in mind that the "Alert" sidebar in Blue Iris could use GIFs instead of snapshots. Then I have another suggestion for the...

    Modify Channels as Separate Streams

My suggestion would be to add the stream TWICE in Blue Iris, so you have 2 "cameras" with the same stream. Then, you use the "Area of Interest" setting in the video tab of the camera setup to isolate the frame for each camera.

    Newbie Question. please help.

Any good recommendations? I don't need good night vision, but I need to address the spider issue. My first brand name camera is a DS-2CD2032-I, which cost me only 80$ in total. So far I am satisfied with it, but I want to purchase another camera that will go in my heavily spider-populated backyard.

Feature suggestion - Animated recording thumbnails

Oh, yeah I will Credit is due where it is due: Contacam I loved it, but I had to stop using it because it only supported MJPEG. H264 cameras required transcoding from VLC. My CPU got murdered by the task when I added a 3MP camera.

The HIKVISION turrets have better IR/NV than Dahua? Or better than the HIKVISION bullet/dome counterparts?

Feature suggestion - Animated recording thumbnails

I've trialed Blue Iris twice until purchasing it this morning. During my trial time, I also tried several free softwares, most of which were worth what I paid for (nothing), but there was one feature from a well meaning programmer that I loved and I couldn't find anywhere else (I don't know if I...
