    Firmware Upgrade—Best Practices.

I normally reset to default rather than factory default to avoid losing my network settings. I decided to follow the steps above and now I have issues since it reset to 192.168.1.1 subnet but the switchport is configured for something entirely different. Unless your cameras are on this...

How to view Dahua cameras without browser plugins

I updated the following cameras and each of them now shows Live view in Chrome and Edge without asking for any plugins, etc. I'm not sure it matters but I did do the System > Default > Default to reset the cam-specific settings (not network settings) to reset before the firmware upgrade. 5x...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

I have AI Tool working well with DeepStack and triggering my HD camera stream; however, it gives me ERROR Could not upload image when trying to use Telegram. I've tried the curl command with the Token and ChatID which allowed my bot to post a message to the chat so it's not that I have the...

Does Blue Iris v4 work w/Home Assistant BlueIrisNVR Add-on?

SOLVED: ... BI was sending updates to HA but when triggered from the context menu or from the AI Windows app the status was EXTERNAL so these are showing under the External binary sensor.

Does Blue Iris v4 work w/Home Assistant BlueIrisNVR Add-on?

I've had BI v4 for several years and never needed anything more but have recently begun to experiment with Home Assistant and found the BlueIrisNVR Add-on. I was able to enter the MQTT details into Blue Iris and connect. BlueIrisNVR detected all my cameras and a bunch of binary sensors...

    Blue Iris UI3

Is there a way to have the UI3 cycle through selected cameras rather than all? Also, I've a few groups I created to group front, side, and back of house together which now causes cycle all cameras to only cycle through these groups instead of individual cameras ... not sure why it won't cycle...

Only 1 of 4 Cameras Capture Fox in Back Yard???

I agree I would be able to rewind the footage and see exactly how he got in but if the motion detection doesn't work properly I would have no idea I had a fox in my yard to begin with. Thankfully I was able to catch him on one camera.

Only 1 of 4 Cameras Capture Fox in Back Yard???

I've 4 cameras in my back yard and only 1 of them caught motion of a fox in my back yard. I'm pretty upset at the moment as I want to know how he got into my fenced in yard since I've dogs which love to be outside in the yard during the summer and now I'm not sure they're safe. Please help...

Thinking about HDW5442TM-AS - looking focal length suggestions - pictures inside

Here’s 2 x 5442’s @ 2.8. This is using the camera icon on Blue Iris iPhone app so I’m not sure how the quality comes across but you can see the wide angle. This is perfect for my back yard as I don’t need facial recognition, although It would probably be halfway decent at the window entries, and...

    Change a Dahua lens from 2.8mm to 4, 6, 8, or 12mm?

I just ordered two Dahua 5442TM-AS cameras in 2.8mm but would actually prefer to have it in 6, 8, 10 or 12mm. That said, can the Dahua lenses be swapped out successfully? FWIW - it's possible on Hikvision ... Change a Hikvision lens from 2.8mm to 4mm or 6mm?

Change a Hikvision lens from 2.8mm to 4mm or 6mm?

I just ordered Dahua 5442TM-AS camera in 2.8mm. As I use IPVM Camera Calculator I can see objects will not be very clear for identification unless really close. I'd like to swap with a 6mm lens and it seems doable ... are there any reputable sellers out there for this, anything to take into...

    Review-OEM IPC-T3241-ZAS 2mp AI Lite series Varifocal

How does this compare with the 5442 turret (IR or LED)? I’m on the fence regarding vari-focal vs fixed lens but I do have most of my cams current zoomed all the way out so I guess fixed lens would be fine. I’ve 5231’s installed around the house ... if I wanted to swap camera locations later...

Why do my cameras have newer firmware than the Dahua site??

In this case, since there's no specific mention of new features or bug fixes for broken features I'll leave well enough alone so my cameras continue to perform as expected ... no need to worry about security risks when you've them connected to their own ethernet port on a BI server with their...

    New Firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.zip

I bought my cameras from Andy in 2018 with V2.622.0000000.31R build 2018-08-13. They're isolated from the internet so I'm not worried about any security vulnerabilities. That said, are there any new features or fixes to broken features in this update?

    Can BI change camera profiles?

Last night I changed the cameras night profile to shutter speed 1/250 which resulted in amazingly clearer motion images. I then set the cameras profiles to change from day/night on a time schedule but obviously sunrise/sunset changes over the year. That said, is there a way BI can change the...

I'm not seeing 5231-ZE anymore ... is something newer recommended?

It would be helpful to see how quickly it would adjust with the auto on led based on motion but I’ve not seen anybody show this yet ... no API or firmware for this yet? I'm not seeing 5231-ZE anymore ... is something newer recommended?

Ahh, this is the comparable to the 5442? I hadn't realized it required the "always on" LED. If these could be kept off and only turned on through some API call from BI when motion is detected, would you agree this would be better quality than IR?

I'm not seeing 5231-ZE anymore ... is something newer recommended?

It appears you can open a fixed focal camera, remove the epoxy glue around the lens cap, and screw it in or out to manually adjust the optical zoom ... is this true? If so, this would allow a person to re-purpose one of these cameras, adjust the optical zoom, and not have to worry whether the...
