Just due to the fact that I set the system up over the past weekend... I did do just about all settings locally, but as I am reading and learning often from work during the day I was trying to hop in and make some changes...

Not sure what I could be doing wrong by simply navigating to the encode section via local nvr, then navigating to encode section remotely via web and observing settings to be different

so then nothing I am necessarily doing wrong.. or a known issue/fix? Too late on the standalone PC vs NVR.. that is a done deal at this point.

nope... when I built the house I conduit piping added in walls all over the place so I can fish cables later..... was importan since most of the ceilings are 12ft and ended up having a horizontal stud in the walls that would be hell to get through for future needs.... I'll be able to fish all...

I hear you on that.... I highly doubt the firmware would just write anyway, .... surely there are some checks in the code to not allow it etc... its just a what if kind of question . From what I see they share the exact same datasheet, which suggest they are in fact identical hardware...
