    Small camera under the mailbox

As you suggested, I can't imagine there being a problem given the closeness to the road. In fact, the proximity to the street is the reason I would want it under the mailbox. That said, obviously I will have to test it to be sure. Unfortunately, that won't happen for a while.

    Small camera under the mailbox

I was thinking one of these would work better than a mini bullet, because it could be easily mounted to the underside of the mailbox, with a relatively low profile. Do you have any examples or specific recommendations you think would work better? Edit: Or perhaps one of these to capture both...

    Small camera under the mailbox

As part of the setup at my new house, I was thinking that a simpler method to get quality license plate readings would be to mount a low profile camera upside down under my mailbox, and to use ground burial rated cable to link it up. In considering this there are three issues that come to mind...

Knock-off wars - anyone willing to test?

I think I misunderstood what you meant by failure earlier. Good to note though. I am not much of a risk taker, so I don't think I will be buying 10 of them. In fact, I plan to build my setup one camera at a time to help spread the cost.

Knock-off wars - anyone willing to test?

Is that the only issue you faced with their cameras? The main reason I ask is because, although that is a pretty big annoyance, computers timestamp file creation and modification dates, wouldn't it be possible to configure blue iris to start a new raw file dump every hour on the hour which...

Knock-off wars - anyone willing to test?

Good point! After poking around, I found the seller's website. It looks like they have other cameras with the STARVIS sensor as well, including eyeball models. I am going to email them to see if they would be willing to send me one free in exchange for an honest thorough review. Their...

Knock-off wars - anyone willing to test?

The Dahua Starlight 2mp line are popular, quality home security cameras. As those in this forum are aware, there are plenty of knock-offs being sold as Dahua but with hacked firmware that bring a slew of problems. However, what about a knock-off built from the ground up simply to match the same...

    Hello

Unfortunately, it's a little too late to run additional conduit without tearing down walls, but I will still be able to have all POE and no WiFi cameras. It is set up in such a way to make that possible. I do not want WiFi cameras. I do wish I had thought to run a small conduit to behind the...

    Hello

Hello everyone! I have been browsing the site and reading many threads and resources over the past few days. My wife, I, and our seven children, will be moving into a new home soon. I had the contractors run 1" conduit from the unfinished basement to every room in the house, and to all 4...
