    Intro and design questions

You could also use an RPI for remote viewing. I have an RPI4 that I use to display my cameras and also my weather station data on 2 monitors. That's the nice thing about RPI4 and dual HDMI out. It's hard wired so I'm not sure how wifi would work L8tr D

Looks like I can't use Docker. I am using Win10 Home. I need to upgrade to pro someday. I am wondering if using Win10 Home is part of the problem too. L8tr d

One NIC for WAN access and one NIC for Cameras using different subnet. Wan is 10.0.0.XXX and Cameras are 10.0.1.XXX. My machine is BI only and the controls LAN/WAN access. All cams are connected to switches and to one NIC. The WAN NIC is connected to my router. The cameras cannot access WAN...

Yes, it does for me. Localhost will only work while using the host machine. If you try to do it on a remote machine connected to the lan, use the IP address. AV and firewall disabled. Still no go. That's my Wan IP. I do have two NIC's on the BI server to isolate the cameras so the WAN...

The same one I just listed above. You have to type the url into a browser. For me I would put in "10.0.0.172:81" or "localhost:81" in Chrome, Firefox, IE, etc. Sorry, I misunderstood what you were wanting to do. L8tr d

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

That's a good question. I searched the DepStack folders and didn't find anything that was dated recently and couldn't find a way to look at logs. I've used the IP address (in my case 10.0.0.175 is the WAN side of my BI server) and "localhost" with port number with no success. The same IP...

I tried port 80 with no luck and also using "localhost" instead of IP address. I restarted AIT after each change. Still same error. I will say though that using http:// made the AIT reaction time a lot faster. L8tr d

IIRC you are supposed to use 81 From the install for Deepstack 1. Install DeepQuestAI DeepQuestAI recently released a Windows installer, so we no longer need the complicated Docker installation. If have the Docker version running, you should uninstall it before. 1.1 Although free...

Power consumption on 3rd gen i5 CPU?

It probably is high as it's been quite a while and can't remember exactly. Probably more like 40. Could have been with more cams too. L8tr D

Power consumption on 3rd gen i5 CPU?

I have an it i5 3450 (optiplex 3010) and the computer draws around 50-60 watts when I checked it with a power meter. That was with 4 or 5 cams. CPU was about 15-20% back then. I've got 9 cams now but haven't checked consumption. Hope this helps. L8tr D

    Zone and trigger problem.

I think your zones should be closer. Try separating them by one row of boxes. L8tr D

    Recording time

Do you "run" the cameras or record all the time? If record you can view the recorded videos. L8tr D

Arduino Uno with Ethernet shield INPUT/OUTPUT to Blue Iris.

@Mattias I would like to thank you for this sketch. I have a couple areas in my front yard with almost a dozen large palm tree. It has been a real challenge to set up my motion detection without many false alarms or missing legitimate triggers. I had an arduino and thought about connecting a...

Syncing time to all Dahua cameras at once

I have to agree with @Whoaru99. When I open the config tool, it always shows the initial setting. I haven't figured out a way to remeber the setting for each camera. L8tr d

It can be accomplished but may take some time. Here in Florida we get wind and sun. I hate palm trees.:banghead:

Opinion on PC for Blue Iris

I've got an i5 3450 with 7 cams & and it runs just fine. BI runs around 10-15% & computer runs around 25%. Just get a purple drive for storage and use the drive you have now for OS & BI. L8tr D

Recording starts 15 seconds after triggered

You have to change that in the camera settings, not Bi.

    Howdy

I've been lurking here for a few months trying to gain knowledge about BI while I've been setting it up and tweaking it. This sure is a great site for helping. I currently have 5 ip cams (4-2mp and 1-1.2mp) going right now. I have learned so much on what to do and what not to do with BI. I...
