You'll have to try reloading the previous version of software/firmware before the update to see if it recovers, but some manufacturers don't allow going backwards so it's best to contact them for support.

It took me three years of fighting to get the city to replace the deteriorating galvanized pipe water main on my street which did help reduce the sediment and brown water issues but our main still gets crap from older galvanized pipe mains connected to it that have not been replaced. My water...

My city water tap for my home is located at the very end of the water main so I get all of the crap that ends up at the end of the main. A fire hydrant is there that the city uses to flush the main every so often but I have to filter my water and the city does not reimburse any of those costs.

When I lived in South Florida it was quite common to see water heaters outside either directly exposed to the elements or inside small outdoor enclosures just big enough for the water heater. I'm sure their life expectancy was probably shorter but they were sitting outside none the less.

Converting over to tankless is very expensive compared to just replacing the water tank and the ROI just isn't there for most people, plus the tankless systems require maintenance. Every time I get estimates to convert my current hot water tank to tankless it's just not worth the high cost.

If the hot water tank is located in the attic above the garage I would have relocated it to the garage space instead of the attic. These new tanks aren't built to last so you'll probably have to replace it again within 10 years, and by then you'll be much older. :lmao: :lmao:

For the through hole caps I'll just grab them with one hand and gently pull while heating the solder joints on the bottom side with the other hand and they'll usually slide right out. The Hakko air torch works really well for this. Then I'll clean up the vias and solder in the new caps.

Nice videos but I don't agree with some of the techniques they demonstrated. Not all soldering wick has built in flux and it's just the plain wick. I would never take a screwdriver to break free solder because that's a sure fire way to damage the board and just isn't the proper way to remove...

I have the Chip Quick flux as well and it's a bit thicker in body but should still work. The flux is applied to the solder joint on the board and not to the soldering iron tip. If the solder is balling up that usually means the soldering iron tip needs to be cleaned. A dirty soldering iron tip...

That happened to me once when I bought a new Lorex dome camera for outside but wasn't happy with the end results so I put it in my crawlspace under the house as a sump pump cam and it works great for that purpose. What you want to use is a flux pen like this one from Amazon.. I use Kester brand for work but they're more expensive. For de-soldering you take the cap off the flux pen and apply the tip to whatever solder joint your removing and press up/down several times which will dispense the flux. Then...
