my idea is... bring the camera inside and swap with the one in the garage. Leave it for a couple of weeks and if it doesnt fail , i know its the cable ..

ok, after re-sealing and dielectric grease last week ,the camera was working fine. Today, the camera is giving me " failed to open video" again . What would be the next step in testing and trying to resolve this?

update : opened up the camera and checked connection . Low and behold, no waterproofing was done. . The connector was corroded and i`m sure would have failed soon enough. I don`t know why i chose to skip this step for this particular camera Maybe i was thinking that in this particular spot...

Dielectric grease and fusion tape was used. I will verify the connection to make sure everything is in order.

not a big deal but .... neighbor had plenty of room to get out of the spot after initial contact with garbage bin. Not only did he make contact , he kept pushing the bin Unnecessarily. He was just being an A-hole.. but to be fair, he thought YOU were being an A-hole as well. :)

That was done on purpose . He didnt have to back up so much to get out of that spot. He was sending a message..

Damn, that thing is mangled.. i feel bad for you. I get the frustration in trying to get the bit out. Once you`re in it , you just say "F$#% - this" and just want to remove it no matter what. You have to be patient. There are easier and more effective ways in removing. Machining is my day...

Wow ! snapped the tool or stripped the screw? How tight was the screw to start with? It only needs to be 1/4 turn after initial bottom. Very strange..this doesn`t make sense to me.

i have just installed several IPC 2331 / 5231 cameras with junction box P137 outdoor. Some of the cameras have a little notch cut out in the mounting frame where the cord would meet the ceiling ( if mounted without junction box). Do you seal this hole? It looks like there is no danger seeing...
