Just an update,.. disabling the audio through RDP session seemed to have resolved the issue. Who'd have thunked that one? @TonyR thanks for guiding in that direction.

Oh ok,.. odd,.. not convenient to go console immediately, will try adjusting the audio settings of the RDP session and see what happens next time, maybe it'll do some wizardry.

Not really,.. mostly check things via the mobile app and UI3 via the browser. And RDP on to update to the next version as needed.

The 'VPN Service' is just a mechanism to funnel your outbound traffic via a 3rd party's services, yeah it'll be encrypted traffic, but won't help you get into your 'home' network without your OpenVPN configuration. Subscribing to a VPN service has nothing to do with getting into your 'home'...

Chances are your cam is connecting to your phone after they do some sort of handshake between an 'intermediate service' to figure where your phone is. Are you able to block outbound access for the cam itself ?

So what subnet is your internal range then ? is it 192.168.254.0 with a mask of 255.255.255.0 - guessing not. As you 'made' your computer see that range, your router also needs to be made aware of the range. Not sure if you can multi-home your router's internal NIC. Are you intentionally...

Assume your router is dishing out DHCP addresses,... what address did SADP show the camera was using ? did you flip it over to dhcp ? is the address its using part of what your 'internal' range is ?

Wouldn't have thought this was all a 30minute job,.. if your NVR doesn't need any internet access, you'd probably get away with making its default gateway address point to the RPi's internal address, e.g. 192.168.x.x.

Maybe add a route to your main router so that it shoves traffic destined for the 10.x.0.0 range to the local interface of the RPi might do the trick. Currently its default would be the internet I'd presume,. and you're probably dishing out a default route via DHCP to your router. Your router...
