The Importance & My Recommended Usage of I-Frame, CBR vs VBR, Shutter Speed In Your Configurations

Good info, I haven't used BI so that is good to know! I only do motion detection on the main stream on the post above, the two others are just for Live Views only for being displayed 24/7. Sorry if there was any confusion on that.

The Importance & My Recommended Usage of I-Frame, CBR vs VBR, Shutter Speed In Your Configurations

Outstanding information here, a good primer for anyone. I would just disagree on 1 part, the VBR/CBR and VBR's usage, at least in my use cases. Andy's cameras, at least the newer ones, seem to scale up VBR as needed very fast. I could imagine some lower quality ones would definitely have...

Possible office building customer for coming up. Recommendations for Dahua cameras?

Little late to the game here, and I build my systems on Milestone, so I'm not sure if blue iris has this capability. I mostly use Dell Optiplex SFF computers for small installs. I take the system NVME drive and break off 100gb for the "live" drive in Milestone, that catches all the recordings...

    Rekor outage?

Them sending out the notice finally I was told was because of me. I ripped them a new one for no communication to the public on the outage. My PD customers were not happy abut the outage, and no notification or response from rekor or replying to support tickets. Hope they do better going...

    Prime Day Discount From June.19th - June.22nd

I can speak on Andy's shipping from Hong Kong, I get stuff faster from him via fedex from Hong Kong than I do ground shipping from most places in US. Don't worry about him shipping from Hong Kong by any means!

    ALPR capabilities of IRLZF1050?

I've used both - Open ALPR is hands down better than the Dahua ALPR function as of a few months ago when I last tested. The built in dahua may have gotten better, I have not tested lately. OpenALPR is outstanding.

Camera to read License plates / Not APR or LPR

No, its pitch black at night. You get the plate and nothing else at night.

Camera to read License plates / Not APR or LPR

A regular high quality camera that close with the built in IR will get the plates quite well since the plates pass almost right by the camera. 1/1000 or 1/2000 exposure and you should be set.

Camera to read License plates / Not APR or LPR

You're right on the road, its a pretty easy install. See a LPR install I did on a post next to a gate, just used one of Andy's higher quality 2-12mm turrets, works perfectly. Short LPR setup with IPC-HDW5231R-ZE

Worlds First Review - Dahua IPC-HFW8442-Z4-D47-LI - Dual Sensor Micro PTZ Bullet

Yes, for that price, only a bit more than the 7442-Z4's its definitely interesting. The 7442's are on point in nearly all condition on the 15 or so I have installed, so if you are saying these are better, I'm excited.

Worlds First Review - Dahua IPC-HFW8442-Z4-D47-LI - Dual Sensor Micro PTZ Bullet

I thought it would be more than that! I may need to get a few to try out. I hate the non POE setup but I'd wire one of these in to give it a try.

    New LPR(ANPR) Camera From Dahua

I've installed one of the new axis LPR's too. Quality control issues, took 2 RMA's to get a full functional ones. I get better reads with the 7442-Z4 though for 1/3 the price.

Worlds First Review - Dahua IPC-HFW8442-Z4-D47-LI - Dual Sensor Micro PTZ Bullet

This is great information, thank you! Have you tried plate recognition with OpenALPR? I have used 7442's extensively and they are outstanding with OpenALPR, so if you are saying the sensors are better on this, I'm excited to give it a try. High power POE would make this a killer option for...

Latest 5 camera/2 pole Traffic LPR Installs

Here are the night time captures. All are reading well at night as well. The original planned lanes are near perfect, the "bonus" lanes I described above are reading at about 90% give or take. I'm running HLC at 85 and 1/2000 shutter speed. They are in the same order as the original one above.

Latest 5 camera/2 pole Traffic LPR Installs

The reason I chose axis was that I only needed 1 milestone license for all 4 internal cameras. I’m not sure if it’s the same with dahua. Also the heads inside the camera are independently adjustable around a track and each are varifocal.

    POS integration Dahua

With the screen recorder, no. Picture it literally as a camera focused right on the screen. We'll usually play it back next to the camera over looking the register to make sure the transaction match up. On the Milestone transact module there was this capability. You would see the receipt...

    POS integration Dahua

You would need some capability on the dahua NVR to read in the data. Milestone treats the serial to IP device just as any other device (camera, speaker, etc) and can pull data from it. Unfortunately I'm not sure if Dahua has that capability on their NVR's as I do Milestone for my NVR's even...

Worlds First Review - Dahua IPC-HFW8442-Z4-D47-LI - Dual Sensor Micro PTZ Bullet

Great review! This would be an interesting setup for an LPR and general overview camera all in one, as I typically use two separate cameras for that. Was there a weight on it, or did I miss it?

    POS integration Dahua

I've done this with Milestone. Its a huge pain since you need to get a serial to IP converter, and a serial splitter, one to send the data to the printer, one to the serial to ip converter. It works well once it gets up and going, but I had to refresh my old IT knowledge of com settings, baud...

Latest 5 camera/2 pole Traffic LPR Installs

Here is a picture of the actual install on pole 2, taken from the bucket truck after replacing the computer in box last week. Pole 1 was nearly the same, just with an extra LPR. In addition to large aluminum plate on the front, there are two additional mount points behind the plate. Not used...

Latest 5 camera/2 pole Traffic LPR Installs

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share my latest 5 camera / 2 pole LPR install that has been online a few weeks. It covers a busy intersection known as 5 corners in our area, intersection of three major roads. Overall, we achieved about 50% more lane coverage than planned. I'll explain each below...

    New Dahua LPR

I went with the Z4 version since it has the higher zoom. I'm getting reads at about 150ft easily in the far lane of traffic on the 7442 from where the camera is mounted. The close lane of traffic passes right by the camera so it does not have to work to hard at that. I also have a 5241 for...
