[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Ditch the deepstack AI Windows program and run it in docker instead. I had so many issues running the windows version randomly stopping processing images, since moving to docker it's been working reliably for days now. No issues at all.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

I was one of the initial testers, couldn't get it working too great on Windows. It would work for a while then completely bomb out and stop processing for a few hours. Decided to give docker version of Deepquest a shot - wow! It's running really well now, especially with GentlePumpkin improving...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

I gave up using this for a while due to issues with DeepStack. Had some time today so decided to give it another bash, looks like Deepstack on Windows is still an issue: [05.04.2020, 15:46:28]: ERROR: Processing the following image 'E:\BlueIris\AI_ID/DrwyAI.20200405_154448879.jpg' failed. 5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

Well on 5.0.4.2 been playing around with Edge vector for a while, in my environment. So far it hasn't really missed anything, but it hasn't made the false positive situations any better either. At night, I still get a lot of false positives from car headlights.

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

For me I'm still getting false positives at night from headlights, so it hasn't helped as much as I hoped. But I've upgraded to the 5.0.4.1 version now and see if anything has actually changed.

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

You're absolutely correct! Hence why I've been putting up with a dozen alerts from headlights at night. I'm also patiently waiting for a solution, I've tried some AI solutions with BlueIris but I could never get them to either work consistently, or they give false negatives which can be rather...

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

Really looking forward to testing this! Been suffering with false positives a lot.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

AI Tool interface for me barely uses anything, I am running it on a pretty beefy system though. However Deepstack is making me tear my hair out, I've been having constant memory leaks and have nailed it down to deepstack, eventually using up over 16GB of RAM on it's own and even crashing windows...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Might need to give Docker version another go, but I am done with Ubuntu. Bothers me so much, when the debian distros are much faster in my environment. Blue Iris recently has been riddled with memory leaks, and weird issues too. Hopefully that's the end of it though, since the latest updates...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

For me initially it was fine, recently it's started playing up. It would randomly stop processing the images. Environment at the moment: Windows 1903 DeepStack running on Windows AI Tool 1.55

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

I'm having a lot of issues with the AI randomly stopping. I have log everything enabled, any ideas? If I restart, it will work for a little while then fail again. [21.07.2019, 23:47:35]: Starting analysis of D:\BlueIris\AI_ID/DoorwayAI.20190721_234735073.jpg [21.07.2019, 23:47:35]: 1...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Great work!! However strangely enough randomly my Deepstack server stopped working today :/ Tried an Ubuntu docker install too and that bought along it's own issues such as the threads aborting. EDIT: Reinstalled Deepstack AI server, rebooted all working again. Strange one, it completely...

Hmm this is definitely something I'll follow. An AI company from Nigeria is nearly unheard of. I hope it continues to improve as time goes on. This AI proves that you don't need a tonne of hardware, and that AI can function locally.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

I think the models on Deep Quest still need some work. For a camera I have mounted at the corner of my house. You can clearly see humans but in a few cases they aren't detected. I'm not fully confident in this yet but as it is now, it's still working great and saving me from a tonne of crappy...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Unfortunately I can't claim to have any horses to test, would love to one day when I move out London. XD The AI definitely needs work some improvement but it's better than getting so many false positives IMHO. There's a few things that it's missed that I'm trying to get to the bottom of.

Wow, that's a lot of cameras. What type of cameras are you using and what's your system specs?

I've only got two cameras at the moment, one of them cloned. Got some 4K turrets on the way. If this is a genuine issue, report it to to BI Support. And s what they say. I've been rather disappointed with BI5 performance, it was meant to run much better. But it runs the same as V4 for me.

Recording on motion and alerts for zones

Unfortunately for the time being, it also duplicates the recordings too. I was thinking about this the other day. Would be nice to have the one video file, but then you'll always need one camera recording 24/7.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

You're getting false positives from the AI? In terms of making it auto run, should be able to with a script. But might be nice to have it all integrated into AI tool.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Hmm need to test more, some times there's false negatives but it could be due to my camera placement. I'm waiting for my new 4K camera which I'll mount much lower down which should help with that.

Recording on motion and alerts for zones

Check under the record tab, you should be able to get a video too. I've got a camera looking down at my porch and it happens to cover quite a bit of the street too. With the cloned camera, it's easy for me to see who came and who left from my house using the porch specific cam and the original...

Recording on motion and alerts for zones

This is what I use for the exact same purpose. Bonus, you can also use Area of Interest to crop the cam, and cloned cameras don't use double the resources.

So far so good... Getting to grips with it and testing it Do we have to have the 1 minute cool downs? Doesn't seem to work for me without a minute in there.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

It's about 600ms for me. Which is pretty nice, I might even put the image capture time down to give the AI a better chance at detecting blurry or bad images.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Did you try a reboot? Because I had the exact same errors as you but the AI didn't crash. After reboot it started to all work like magic. I might experiment with the Docker version to see if it's any faster, I'll just need to do a few extra steps as my server runs ESXi. It's already pretty fast...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

In a bizarre twist of events, I just restarted my machine. Upgraded Blue Iris to latest version and it appears to have started working... It's definitely picking up false alerts and logging them in the stats. I'll continue to monitor and see how this goes. [11.07.2019, 23:29:41]: Starting...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Weird, ideally I'd like it running on the same box. I appear to be able to open the DeepStack local web page on a browser just fine, so physically it appears to be somewhat up. I've not gotten any crashes but it's just not working. I'd give the docker a shot but I use ESXi for virtualisation and...
