clip playback

When I click on clips and select a clip to playback, it will display the spinning circle and a few playback controls at the bottom but it will continue to just display the live image and that's it. I can select a spot along the timeline but it doesn't make it work. Screenshot attached.

I recently updated Blue Iris and now when I playback clips the aspect ratio is messed up. They appear squished together, like if it were a person they would look tall and skinny. Can you tell me how I can change that. Thanks, Btownguy
