Can anyone recommend a 5 or 10x PTZ that starts at 2.8? A friend of mine wants to put 3 or 4 cameras up to watch his dogs, he doesn’t want stationary cameras. Thanks.

Your friend wants a PTZ to "follow" your dogs around automatically? Or does your friend want to manually PTZ around to catch blind spots and/or zoom in when needed?

Actually manually to look for them. Right now he has a 20 or 30x PTZ but it starts at 4.7mm and he can't see a close and wide area. He has it mounted on the barn and wants to replace it and add 2 more on each side of the barn. I tried to convince him to use fixed lens but he wants PTZ...

We have a PTZ3E10X-T180 in our shop that we still have to install into our Dahua NVR. A little under $400 via Andy.
180 degrees for the static "stitched" camera.
PTZ has 10x optical with 4mm-40mm focal length
Overview channel: 2.8 mm;
Detail channel: 4 mm–40 mm
Focal Length

That sounds like what he is looking for. Thanks.

Hmm... good question. I would imagine it is a single camera with 2 channels (180 view + PTZ view).
Maybe I should take home and slap into my Blue Iris to see, tomorrow.

Here are the default image settings for the 180 and then PTZ (if they appear. maybe not with the issues of IPCT of late)

And for Blue Iris... have to add camera with IP address/user/pass and then 'find' button. Have Channel1_MainStream and Channel1_Substream for the camera.
clone the camera so you have to re-add it with ip addres/user/pass and then 'find' button. Have Channel2_MainStream and Channel2_Substream for camera.
Whalla. PTZ controls work via Blue Iris.

Is that wall straight, and the duel lens making it look like a V?
The camera is not straight. It's just clamped to a pole to get it up in the air. Not leveled or securely mounted. Temp situation :) I gets pretty dark in my neighbor's back yard there. Waiting to see the night images.

This camera does require a Dahua PTZ arm mount. Which I did not get (oopsie). So temp clamp works for quickie testing.
